Hi. To those who caught covid-19, did you end up loosing your hearing and smell? If so, did it return?

I caught it last year March 2021, and cannot smell well in right nostril and since this year, around March 2022 -again, I noticed my right hearing is going. I'm frustrated. I had the best smell sense and it's gone... Not to mention, my mind on the right side of my body feels off / cloudy. If this happened to you, did your hearing or smell return? I went to see an ENT and she says I have long term covid and she also wants me to do a CT.

I caught COVID back in January, but have seemingly missed any long-term effects. I did, however, have a coworker that lost her sense of smell for at least 3 months following her recovery from COVID. It's possible that it was longer, but she left to find another job and I never got to follow up on that.

From most of the accounts I've read, the lost sense of smell should be temporary. It's pretty rare for it to not return at all, since even the extreme cases mostly show a partial loss of smell. Other symptoms like brain fog and memory problems are still being researched, and since I've last looked over the studies, doesn't seem to have any definitive conclusions other than acknowledging its existence. There aren't really any good controls in the research, so it's hard to say to what extent those problems will affect you

Sorry that you're going through these symptoms, because these are the same things that haunted me while I was battling the virus and figuring out what my outlook would be. It's not much of a consolation, but you're definitely far from alone. The science is fairly young into this research, so there's still hope for treatment options regarding your ailments. It's too early to say whether or not these side-effects are permanent.
I'm sorry to hear you're still feeling long term effects, and I hope those senses still return over time!

My family of four all caught Covid in late Dec 2021 after Xmas. All had pos tests, either rapid or PCR. Mild cases all the way round; no loss of smell or taste; no long term effects. For what it's worth we were all vaxxed & boosted.

Do the CT. Covid causes some people to have strokes or heart issues to. I got my taste back in 5 months, my smell back in 7

Sue doc I am the science shit we all should it was his lab that leaked this bull shit why isn’t he being held accountable for anything?

@LordShadowfire well multiple sources including those in the medical community are saying Fauci was responsible for the conducting of gain of function research.
Pandemic is over the only ones dieing from it are those on their death beds already…
Watch in 10-15 years the truth will come out

But also the BBC said it’s unfounded but could have some credibility

It’s just unconfirmed because the CCP will not allow it to be properly investigated! Why because various big time players in their organization as well as others had their hands in this
suzette · 46-50, F
No, but those around me who have had it said it happened to them and both came back.
LoneGirl101 · 31-35, F
@suzette Then why not ours? I keep hoping for it to change

Hi. Well I lost my sense of smell in 1999 from getting mugged and beat up by two black guys. I've long since got used to it. Has its advantages. But your hearing is a whole different thing. I hope they get better for you. Take care
