@WalterF This might come as a shock to you, but wealthy countries often have below-replacement levels of fertility, growing largely through immigration. Yes, in the long run, high standards of living will reduce the population - but Bill is actually looking in the near term in that quote you’re thinking of, and is talking about reducing growth.

It’s not like overpopulation -> overexploitation -> die-back cycles aren’t frequently seen in nature, and I have little desire to live through a global version for our own species. Lowering birth rates through boosting living standards is the win/win option of getting there.

So,to conclude this dialogue de sourds, your position, as it comes across, is: you believe that all is for the best in a world which is able to defeat nasty epidemics (covid downgraded from pandemic in March 2020 but EUA retained, as it suited goverments), and which is led by fearless, selfless, loving leaders with only the good of their subjects in mind. You do not, apparently, believe in evil. Nor in greed, where the possession of money and power can lead to the desire for even more money and power, and scruples can go out the window. You are happy to bow to Schwab's openly published declaration in the Great Reset program, that we "will own nothing and be happy".
