Malta will ban visitors that are not fully vaccinated against covid

https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/malta-bans-all-visitors-who-arent-fully-vaccinated-against-covid-2021-07-09/

This is atrocious. Medical apartheid is here. I am fully vaccinated, but from now Malta is a rogue country to avoid.

If your vaccinated why would you fear being around unvaccinated people?

Your covered.. So it should not matter to you if others are not because that can only affect them.. Not you..
Cierzo · M
@Adstar That is the logical point of view, but the Maltese government do not sound logical.
Adstar · 56-60, M
@Cierzo The only reason i would be against the decision of the Maltese government is if they had not yet vaccinated all the people who wished to be vaccinated in Malta.. Bringing in un-vacinated tourists would be a threat to the lives of those people..
-
But once all the people of Malta that wanted to get vaccinated where vaccinated then there is not reason to prevent un-vaccinated tourists from entering the Island.. As long as the tourists had health insurance coverage to pay for any treatment they might receive if they got a bad case of covid on the Island..
They should prolly start building gulags now. Cause there’s a lot more than they are letting on, that don’t want anything to do with a vax

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout This may be the next step. If it happened I am sure many 'people' would agree.
@Cierzo dangling the carrot of I won’t be able to fly or cross borders isn’t scary enough.. can’t afford holidays at the best of times.. when it comes to employment.. we’ll see some action..

Malta is a sovereign country and as such is free to handle covid issues as it sees fit - as you have no intention of visiting Malta it’s a non issue😂
Cierzo · M
@MissTaken It is true, Malta is a sovereign country. And the same way some criticise Hungary, which is a sovereign country too, for their LGBT policies, I do the same with Malta for their covid policies.

@TheLastWord I think it exists, but it has been made to look much more dangerous than it is because it suits the agenda and authoritarian ways of many governments.

@TheLastWord COVID is real, but defs planned and was no accident.
I would trust a catholic priest with a child more than the COVID vaccine.

Look forward to this same thing happening all around the world.

It's your choice, yet it's their choice as well.

Being upset about the policies of China, Russia or even Iran wouldn't stop me if I wish to visit any of them.

I would have to abide by their own rules even if I had to bow to Mecca three times a day. It doesn't make me Islamic. Nor does it mean I suppport their beliefs or government.

@DeWayfarer I see easily some countries doing the same, but also others welcoming unvaccinated tourists.

When in Rome, do as Romans do. But there are more places in the world, there is not only Rome.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@Cierzo I see it happening everywhere. It's not just vaccinations. And why the saying doesn't say...

When in Rome do only "some" of the things the Romans do.

It applies to everything.

Not doing so is a very good way to land in jail or in the case of Iran stoned to death without a trial.

You mean they will "ban" visitors who are not fully vaccinated, right?
Cierzo · M
@Mugin16 Thank you. Edited.
I hope other don't follow this. I am not taking the vaccine.
Cierzo · M
@littlepuppywantanewlife It is an individual decision. Taking or rejecting it does not make you a better or worse person, and should not give or take rights.

@Longpatrol Malta does not sound hospitable any more.

Cierzo · M
