Has anyone else noticed the upswing of conspiracy nuts hopping on the Christian Apocalypse bandwagon?

These days conspiracy theories have become more accessible and prevalent than ever before and i find it funny that along with COVID deniers and flat earthers we're also seeing more people declaring the end times are gonna happen any day now.

Anyone else notice this trend?

To be fair, the Christian apocalyptic vision isn’t a conspiracy theory per se.

A conspiracy theory explains current events through dark and sinister plots involving secret groups and so on. I’m tired all the time because the Illuminati are spraying halcyon on me through chemtrails.

A feature of Christianity is eschatology. The theology of the end of the world. Most see that as something that is always immanent. It’s a minority who are convinced it’s coming next week.

There are a couple here preaching that. They seem to when they are upset. It comes and goes.

Yeah i guess i phrased that badly. I don't think of latter day beliefs as a conspiracy theory so much as a wacky fringe belief. But it's people who hold a lot of conspiracy theories that i've noticed taking up this belief more in recent years.
