I am sure most don't care

But if you do...

I was rushed to the hospital last week. Turns out I had a massive life threatening infection called ESBL.

I had been severely dehydrated, lethargic, and suddenly no strength to hold myself up.

72 hours of broad spectrum antibiotics brought me back.

Not to call for attention, just reminding everyone that this can happen to anyone and if untreated, bad things can happen.

Good day.

I hope you are feeling better now! Sorda the same thing happened to me before! You take care of yourself! I have been on here for about 4 years under different accounts and I know most of the usernames of people who have been on here awhile. I care!

I'm glad you caught it in time and you're doing better. Sepsis put me in a three week coma and nearly killed me.

@moonlightlullaby heard the stories

I had that also when I went to the hospital in October with pneumonia. Scared the hell of me when I learned what it is. But like you they identified the culprit bacteria and gave me the proper antibiotics. Between that and the pneumonia I was on IV antibiotics for just under 3 weeks. Prior to going in I was so sedentary I screwed up my legs bad. Still working on returning calve muscles.

@Gibbon indeed

Sorry to hear that. Antibiotics themselves I find can wipe me out. Hope you get well again soon xx

I’m glad that it was caught in time. Do you know if it was contagious or caused by an underlying condition? ( the reason I ask this is because they are finding out that most heart attacks aren’t caused from high cholesterol but by bacteria)

I know the feeling, I was rushed to the er last late may for a heavy intestinal bleed, my anticoagulant was eight times higher than normal, my blood was thinner than water, when they say black tarry stools they are NOT fucking kidding, think actual tar, my hemoglobin count was also 6.6, I only had half blood volume and had to have three units of whole blood. To make matters worse I had to have emergency colorectal cancer surgery, they removed a mass the size of a grapefruit.
Happy for you ML
