If you had xeroderma pigmentosum or cutaneous porphyrias, would you go nocturnal?

These are disorders that cause skin to burn in sunlight.
I was thinking it must be pretty awful but you could live at night.
It's almost romantic, not to trivialize the plight of those with these disorders.

I was once on a bus in Scotland on an extremely hot day (they do have them 😏) and the poor man driving was covered almost entirely. He had a big black coat, wide-brimmed hat, gloves, a scarf over his mouth and nose, but I could see very pale skin just around his sunglasses. I'm afraid he wasn't the most cheerful of bus drivers I've ever encountered, but that is probably very understandable watching us all enjoying the sunshine in a carefree way. I felt very sorry for him.
