@Adrift There was an anti-vaxer that was running for the presidential candidate for the democratic party not so long ago. He dropped out, because he wouldn't get enough votes anyway. Then he endorsed Donald Trump, and now he's the "Secretary of Health and Human Services". That's the difference.

I really wonder how the brain works sometimes. What do you think is more important in an evaluation? The actual statstics (preferably, the large majority that does X to proof that X is a thing) or some anekdote like "I know someone" or "there was this guy once ... but he didn't have any following".

The republican party puts RFK Jr in a position of power, and the base is cheering it on. While democrats voted him and Tulsi out, and the majority, of the democratic party, is still frowning about their wild conspiratorial ideas.

The MMR vaccine has been in use since 1971. It's pretty well tested over the last 54 years. Yet lots of people said no to MMR; enough to have an outbreak that continues to grow. 285 confirmed cases in the US in 2024.

Texas dept of heath has 514 confirmed cases so far this year, which included 56 hospitalizations and 2 deaths so far. This measles outbreak is not in any way contained. BTW, measles suppresses the immune system for a couple years after infection, so those unvaxxed kids who caught measles are now more susceptible to a whole raft of other infections.

And the fallout from some other RFJ Jr misinformation is Texas is finding kids with liver damage. Liver damage? Yes, from vitamin A toxicity. Because RFJ Jr told people that cod liver oil would help with measles. And the stuff is loaded with vitamin A and most parents aren't monitoring the dosage.

RFJ Jr told them cod liver oil so they're poisoning their kids' livers with the stuff. Oh, and cod liver oil does nothing against measles; never did.

BTW, you, @gol979 , have even less medical expertise than RFJ Jr, so when your "advice" contradicts what the immunologists and the epidemiologists and the front-line doctors say, all you're doing is destroying your own credibility.

@HootyTheNightOwl Dat is wel niet hetzelfde als: "Volgens Trump waren ze op hun best toen ze nog Brits waren.". ... Ik was vooral uit op een bron waar hij da zou gezegd hebben. Ik ben zeer sceptisch dat hij dat ooit zou zeggen. Aan de andere kant, je kan ook nog van weinig verbaasd zijn met deze mens.
