Why is eating healthy so expensive??

You would think you'd get a break, beings you're trying to stay away from doctors rather than be on all sorts of meds for chloresterol, high blood pressure, obesity, etc. But it's the exact opposite. For what I just spent on healthy foods, I could have my entire pantry cram full of all the bad stuff ffs.

It depends on what you define as healthy foods and health generally. I mean frozen stuff is even expensive but I do frozen fruits and will buy in bulk if I can find it, cost co is good for that. Target also has some surprisingly good frozen section.

It's also if you want organic vs non organic but that's mostly a scam. You should look up chemophobia if that's the case, there's a good book on it by a chemist that tries to distill food myths.

We also got a trader Joe's and you can make 4 or 5 ingredient meals with that store too. There's an instagram by an author who lists all kinds of recipes under 5 ingredients or less with tons of ideas.

But when i ask what you define as healthy, for some oats are the devil and for others, not. I like meat still but can also do mock meats, tofu, beans, most legumes stuff like that.

@SatanBurger I don't eat meat & try to stay away from carbs so I stick to fruits, steamed veggies, basically things that don't have a ton of salt or sugars in them. I do love cheese & crackers though! And I live alone so I don't do alot of cooking anyway. Thank you for your input :)
