When you're being health conscious

I chose two healthier options today, Two! I had a Dunkin egg and cheese on English muffin instead of croissant for lunch. And at dinner I really wanted breaded chicken in my sandwich, but ordered grilled! So I was feeling all good about myself until I realize halfway through my chicken sandwich, that the lemon poppy mayo (sooo good) probably has 20 grams fat!!! Ugh can't win for losing 😩

Unless the Mayo had a lot of chemicals in it it's not a bad fat it's 100% fat ,but that doesn't really make it bad.
If it has a lot of sugar in it that might be a problem, but they don't usually put sugar in mayo, possibly in the flavored ones?
But ,we're going to make mistakes.
I've been a diabetic for many many years and I still make mistakes like today I thought I'll eat some potatoes it's Saint Patrick's Day,but I'm very sensitive to starches and carbs,so ,of course, it raised my blood sugar too high.
Just start again tomorrow for whatever is right for your goals.

@Justmeraeagain Both my sis and mom are diabetic as well, and any potatoes or rice always spike their sugar too :( My sis finds sweet potato is a bit better as it has fiber. Ty for your kind words, that's true, maybe the mayo isn't AS bad as I thought.

@Baybreeze for me the white bread would be bad so, I would get eggs and maybe wheat toast instead of a breakfast sandwich ,but everybody has different nutritional needs.
There are some diabetics that can eat oatmeal and grains, but I must be highly sensitive because it all raises my blood sugar.

@Justmeraeagain You are not alone. Even things like coffee can raise my sister's sugar :( It's just horrible. Her case is so labile, she can barely eat ANYTHING and it raises her sugar. They think her pain in her legs (undiagnosed condition), plus neuropathy pain, plus stress, raise it besides the food.

@Baybreeze I get it and those who say "it's only diabetes" do not have a clue how hard it is to just stop eating anything that you like.
To see little progress when you are doing the right thing.
They have some kind of idea that you're just sitting around eating ice cream and cookies and not trying at all to control your diabetes which isn't always true ;every case is different.
I've even had doctors tell me I must be eating sugar, because my morning numbers are so high ,but I don't even keep it in the house.
And that is very discouraging when you can't even count on your doctor to help you.
