Have you ever rekindled a romance with an old flame?

How did it work out for you?

I guess the second part there would give an indication where it went wrong in the first first. It's never, I repeat, it's never about how it's working for you alone

Loneliness can make you do some crazy things, but when the thought arises, all I have to do is read a few comments or remember a few things and that thought goes right back out. Sleeping dogs need to be left there I’m thinking. how about you?

@LavidaRaq My thoughts exactly. I did rekindle a romance awhile ago but it fizzled out before it even got started 😌

@SW-User things end for a reason I suppose
SW-User
@LavidaRaq Isn't that the truth

Once, never again. An ex is an ex for a reason.

@AbbeyRhode That is very true

I tried to get back together with the ex after our divorce. I had developed amnesia about all the bad things, and all I could remember were the good things. Let's just say he reminded me VERY quickly about all the bad things.

@4meAndyou So sorry to hear that

Kinda online.. stopped talking in March.. started again in August 2020. Fell out in October 2020. Still in contact these days but rarely talk now.
Probably a little different than most but.....

I was living in NE Canada for my work at the time and I had been dating a woman there for about a year and a half when the 'company' told me I had to transfer to the Oregon coast. She didn't want to move away from her folks so our "break-up" was very amicable and we agreed to stay in touch by mail (this was before cell phones). After a year in Oregon, the 'company' transferred me to a remote outpost in the middle of no-where for a years stay. It was a sh*tty location that they had trouble manning, but the good news was that if I agreed to stay there for a year, then they would guarantee that I could go anywhere the company had an opening for my job. So after a year of near isolation, I chose NE Canada (again) and when I flew in she picked me up at the airport and it was like we had never parted. I continued to date her for the next three years and then was transferred to SE Asia. We never got together again after that, but we still check-in with each other occasionally via FB messenger.

Why would anyone want to go back to the toxicity again? Once its over its over forever.

Always remember why it did not work out the first time around.

What I eventually learned, was always be your best, never backtrack, and be curious of what may next occur, around a corner of life.

Learn to relish and be excited, over the limitless possibilities! 🙂

@AbbySvenz Amazing I should have thought of that 😁

When I was a junior in high school, I dated a senior for about a month or two. She was a friend of my of sister who is a year older than I am.

Anyway, the summer just before my junior year in college, we hooked up at a huge party I was throwing. I hadn’t seen or heard from her in three years. We began to date and were married three years later.

I’m divorced now, but she is still a lovely person. We lasted 30 years and have two daughters. All in all, it was a pretty good run.

However, I’ve married again and am much, much happier. Just follow your heart. You only live once.
only once, we dated for 3 months then 4 years later tried again, it lasted less than a month, it is rarely worth trying again and i won't again with anyone

Nope, once things end relationship wise for me then there are no returned visits to that relationship that failed.
BuzzedLightyear · 61-69
On then off then on then off...over years...only to realize we were both imagining the other person as someone they were not.
i tried by giving subtle hints....but no dice.
Yes and went good when it lasted.

not rekindled but I have had sex with an ex like 6-12 months after a breakup more than a couple of times.

It was upfront we were just having sex on those instances
Primnproper · 56-60, F
Nope..for me once its over i look forward never back..they became an ex for a reason, rarely can that be overcome.
SW-User
@Primnproper That is true
The few that I did was generally engaged by them and it was purely a mutual sexual thing. Remaind friends but nothing more
HumanEarth · 56-60, F

Wasn't a good idea. At least for me, you split up for a reason.

@uncalled4 Very true
Donotfolowme · 51-55, F

SW-User
@Donotfolowme Good for you. That's an important attitude
Donotfolowme · 51-55, F
@SW-User With this attitude I experienced a lot in life and I am where I am now.
SW-User
@Donotfolowme I find that to be smart thinking
Not well. Never again.
