What are things you notice on the first date that will definitely earn them a second date?

1. If there is an instant "spark"
2. If they make me genuinely laugh (not a fake or nervous courtesy laugh)
3. If we had deep conversation on the first date, I am [i]far[/i] more likely to want a 2nd date.

@DearAmbellina2113 I've done the deep conversation thing, but basically none of the women I've tried dating since leaving my second ex have ever 'felt a connection' with me and tbh I haven't felt one with them. I'm so far out of knowing what a relationship feels like to know what a 'connection' actually is.

@zonavar68 Let's not focus on sadness - what do you want? I have learned with age, if you focus on the negatives in sadness, you set yourself up for loss with little connection.

@DearAmbellina2113 I agree on the first two, but the third is pushing boundaries a little. I wouldn't expect to get into "deep" conversations on a first date. Too heavy for me. That would come after you know the person better.
