Do you buy a present for someone your dating?

It's been 4 months and we're not official.
It's probably been even less time since we see each other every other week. So really 2 months.
His birthdays the 10th and in all honesty Im not seeing him until maybe the 19th of November.
Do I buy him a gift?

My mums saying to me to wrap up the unopened glenfiddich that I have in the cupboard and give him a card since I'll never drink it and he likes to drink...
I would give him something.

Well i would. And it wouldn't be recycled either.
Yesssssss if you still want to keep dating that person. I mean why wouldnt you ? Unless you dont like them and in that case dont date them.

I would give him a small gift.
That every girl I ever liked whom I gifted something they never talked to me again. So I never gift anything to anyone. Nor to my sister and neither to my mom because I don't want to loose them.

I think its a nice idea. Why shouldn't you anyway. If you're fond of him it makes sense lol
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@Gangstress Well I don't want to make the same mistakes I made in the past.
I've only done the gift giving thing with one person and he totally ruined my experience.
I know he's not the same person but they're born 8 days apart can you believe.
You know me and my star signs I don't want to trigger similar reactions.

@Mellowgirl yeh i get ya hum. Hmmmm then i would say maybe buy him a few drinks when you do meet up maybe?
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@Gangstress Yea i could do that

It depends. If you really like him, and you want to leave an impression, you might want to leave him a B-Day card on his door step.

You dont have to go crazy but you have to give him something
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
That sounds like a nice gift, actually. Yes, get him a birthday gift. It's thoughtful, and might help move things along, if that's what you want.
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@DunningKruger I wouldnt go as far as telling him I didn't buy it... Recently that's off
It I'd wrap it up.
I dunno though because he's not the kind of person that would like to drink alone...
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
@Mellowgirl That's an issue if you don't drink anymore. Does he have any other interests that might suggest a nice but not terribly expensive gift?
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
@DunningKruger hmm. He smokes... Which he's trying to quit. Yes he likes films, festivals, clubbing.
Trainers. Clothes.
Fun experiences but not heights.

I will take one anytime. Lol. I have no time limits.

I would give him a card and take him out for lunch.
TexChik · F
Yes, it would be appropriate
Mellowgirl · 31-35, F
