My son bought me one about 5 years ago. Its an Amazon fire model. I thought they all colour? No? Mine is.
I dont use it an awful lot, but i love to take it on my hols. Less bulky than a couple of books and i can play games on it, listen to music check FB and SW and emails while lounging by the pool.it has a camera too. I know i can do all that that on my phone too, but the bigger screen is easier on the eye for this old lady.
Plus....it wouldn't be such a loss if i lost/ damaged it compared to the phone.

@RubySoo Amazon fire is not a kindle but a tablet, hence the confusion I guess. Kindles only allow you to browse literature, and most of them are grayscale.

I have always had a Kindle Fire since I left desktop. Long time ago. They are affordable and efficient. Now that I have been on IPad for a while I can’t go back to kindle.

@MartinTheFirst oh I see, thanks for explaining that.

I have a kindle, but it was less than $100 when I got it. I need books with large print, and they are hard to find, so a kindle is a better and cheaper option. I am reading three books on mine currently.

I would get a kindle. But i don't have one nor am I planning on buying with this current lifestyle.
The reasons are, it's intentional, very intentional and doesn't ring, doesn't include apps, doesn't blip, blink, blop, gong, you get what I mean?!
It's plain and simple and you hold it with a single intention.
Whereas, I'm opening an ebook on my phone, ten minutes later I'm looking for something on Google, 20min later something else and so on and so forth.

Because a laptop is too big to hold on a train , plus it lights up when reading in the dark, and it bookmarks pages you read so you don’t lose a section.

It may be i big pricey but once you download amazon the books are either free or cheap

No one buys them honey. Everyone went back to books.

@bluebird a book isn't a very specific brand... it can't be compared
bluebird · 26-30, F
@MartinTheFirst it can. Because kindle was created as a an alternative to reading a paper book. You use a kindle to read books.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@bluebird still no... it'd be better to compare how many people read paper books vs how many read them digitally
