Lost its way
@sunriselover That might be the world over?

SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
I would prefer to chracterise British culture. I find Englishness a bit contrived . . what is left over after defining Welsh, Scottish, Ulster cultures (which in themselves can seem quite contrived). My characterisation of British culture (from the perspective of a bit of an outsider) is:

* Pragmatic pessimism/cynicism
* Toleration (often disguised beneath an unfriendly exterior)
* Weather
* NHS
* Impenetrable humour
* Sense of fairness/knowing why it is important to wait your turn in the queue
@SunshineGirl ok I’ll change it, thanks.

@sunriselover You didn't need to do that, I'm sure it means different things to different people. But for me Britishness seems more obvious.

It used to be the family structure within the home ie: manners, etiquette and general courtesy and consideration, sadly that’s depleting.
It’s become mundane things.

Mainly stereotypes that were outgrown about 25 years ago?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Nimbus You mean like a full English fry-up for breakfast or a roast beef lunch on Sunday with mushy peas and Yorkshire pudding?
Nimbus · M
@cherokeepatti No, they will never go out of style ;)
