Every time I think a thought that I think is a little racist or biased, I reevaluate myself so I can start thinking different. I think moving the the USA as a child and ending up in a predominantly African American neighborhood gave me that advantage.

@smiler2012 Well balanced adults generally can. There’s a whole range of people who don’t act on the first thought that comes into their head.

Biases exist, but racism is a different thing--I don't agree that there's someone "a little racist". It's too bad that the word has become completely defanged over the years. I think there are people who may act "racially insensitive" or act in a biased way.
The word that has been completely forgotten about is "prejudice". That was the word in the 70s/80s. That should make a comeback.
I think it's possible to re-evaluate one's biases and move forward effectively. Absolutely makes the world a better place.
