In Arabic we don’t say “goodnight “

Instead we say :
تصبح على خير
Which means “May you wake up to good things/news”
Or “May you wake up with goodness/ to all that’s good”
And the other person would reply with:
وانت من اهله
Which means : and you are of the good people

When I studied I had some friends from Arabia, and I still remember how nice they were. Upper class kids of course. They sometimes translated their Arabian greetings and wishes literally, and it always sounded extremely friendly. Europeans are cold as ice in comparison.

Can you please mention how to pronounce it? I cannot read Arabic 🙄 Shukariya

@Domking
Tisbah ala kheir
^ the k here is pronounced like the Spanish “j” sound
Literal meaning is “May you wake up to Good”
And the response is
“Wa anta min ahleh “
And the literal meaning is
“And you are from its people “
Hope this helped 💕

I like that. I have a saying, it's never goodbye, it's see you later, or until we meet again.

This is true.

We also say (though less commonly and more formally) ليلة سعيدة which translates to happy night.
Moon3624 · 18-21, F
@SW-User haha it’s never actually used here
