In Arabic we don’t say “goodnight “

Instead we say :
تصبح على خير
Which means “May you wake up to good things/news”
Or “May you wake up with goodness/ to all that’s good”
And the other person would reply with:
وانت من اهله
Which means : and you are of the good people

When I studied I had some friends from Arabia, and I still remember how nice they were. Upper class kids of course. They sometimes translated their Arabian greetings and wishes literally, and it always sounded extremely friendly. Europeans are cold as ice in comparison.
