The Nazis did some impressive things when they came to power, but we typically only associate them with bad. Younger generations use the term “nazi” to describe people they have chosen to dislike, and they have a poor understanding of Nazism.
I see whether Nazis were socialists or not is being discussed in this post…
Socialist governments want to control our lives, and Nazis too sought to control populations. Speech and other freedoms are often restricted by socialist governments.
Hitler said: “I want everyone to keep what he has earned subject to the principle that the good of the community takes priority over that of the individual. But the state should retain control; every owner should feel himself to be an agent of the State. The Third Reich will always retain the right to control property owners.”
We know the Nazi Party was a socialist party when it was first established, and we know that this is how it attracted many of its supporters. I believe that Nazis were unique, representing many facets of politics simultaneously. Hitler fused racial ideology with socialism. He allowed private ownership to the extent it would benefit him and his Nazi state. A socialist would do the same. Nazism had to come first, and everything was subject to this condition.
It is said that socialism advocates eradicating inequality in our societies, which is not possible. Inequality is inherent and unchanging; we may be equal in the eyes of God, but we are not equal to one another, and we have traits that are either good or bad, circumstances that either help or do not help. Socialism can only be partially practiced because it is not practical or realistic, and can very easily become fascism when we consider state interference. Eradicating inequality would make you a dictator, a person using their powers to mess with a naturally occurring order of events to create a new and different outcome, making someone else a loser in the process.

@emiliya So let's all practice blatant unfairness and inequality because you think doing otherwise is being a dictator.

The Nazi's where Socialists ,, Nationalist Socialists,, but Socialists never the less.. The weird thing is that many of the protestors calling every one else nazies declare themselves to be Socialists,, Internationalist Socialists, But Socialists never the less.. Hitler and His Nazi government ruled using a controlled socialist command economy method.. Watch the video below and see how their socialist policies made their train/ logistics system ineffective..

@Adstar Blah blah blah. You can't name a single country that tried Socialism, then became authoritarian.
The Bolsheviks and the Soviet Union were capitalist, they just used left-wing imagery. Are you so gullible that you believe someone is a Socialist just because they claim they are, even as their politics are obviously capitalist?

Oh my god you are both so wrong I'm going to lose my mind.
BohemianBabe · M
@CountScrofula I'm never wrong.

If you're referring to the current civil rights movement, the comparison is probably about how Israel is committing genocide, which the Nazis also did.

Remember kids, the most important thing going on is the protests, not the issue they are protesting.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@MethDozer I wrote an article a while ago about this and something I found is how much people used that line on civil rights protests.
BohemianBabe · M
@CountScrofula Establishment Liberals always support historical civil rights movements, but never the current civil rights movement. The current one is just so radical!
Years from now, when the modern Democrats are ancient, they'll be talking about how they were cheering on those protesters at Columbia.

@CountScrofula Civil rights is a whole different ball game…the most peaceful protest was "taking a knee": No property was damaged, no traffic was stopped, nobody got hurt and there was no noise.
People still found a way to have a problem with it.
That it was suggested by a veteran and denounced by a draft dodger didn’t stop them from claiming that it was "disrespectful" to veterans. 🙄

As a good number of them are students and a lot of them study history particularly 20th centutry history, I'd say of course they do. Probably more so than those generations who take great pleasure in berating them.

Yes, the identical corporations still own everything and yet WWII was long ago. Younger people know that the billionaires run things and that wealthy people are a class. Fascism wanted that war. Review by the gleefully killing current dead but walking hegemon is not likely,! Chaos instead of mindfulness. No way murkans will flinch in their final solution to life.

Our grand parents could tell us about them

I am not quite sure what a Jenzed is, but if they do not know, either they have made no effort to find out or they were not taught 20C history at school.
They certainly have no excuse.
The name is a portmanteau abbreviation of the German words for "National Socialism", but there was little "socialism" in their ruthless, military dictatorship.

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout what if Watergate is like the Nazis? Like we don't remember 19 out of twenty of the genocides that produced the whites for the westward expansion. We don't remember the illegal bombings in SE Asia, just Watergate - instead. So we don't go there.

They arent true socialists. Try Cuba
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@Patriot96 Cuba isn't a true socialist country. Neither was the USSR, and neither is China, so maybe quit believing their hype.

If you sit at a table with 10 people, one is a Nazi and the other 9 aren't objecting to it... You're sitting at a table with 10 Nazis.
