Can someone tell me what the American culture is specifically?

I keep getting told by people that immigrants should adopt American ways but there's walmarts and McDonalds in every corner of the world so people are adopting Western culture. What are specific unique things to America that immigrants need to adapt to though, just out of curiosity. I wasn't aware we had a "specific" thing going on here but whenever I ask, I just get a giant monologue.

From my limited experience of and visits to America, the best part of the culture is a strong sense and of place and pride in where you live. Americans have adapted themselves to a vast range of environments that they have settled and chosen to call home. They have often found ways of coexisting peacefully with different peoples and ideas.

The worst aspect is when politicians narrowly define what it is to be American and use it to define in and out groups. But that general criticism probably applies to most nations.

😂... excuse me?! This is not an application for a government job, you know!

I believe the subject was defining "American culture" but I could be wrong, so I'll go back and check right now!

I’m from big liberal American cities, so don’t really count as a complete American.

@Bumbles Lol you could give it a shot anyways, I'm just confused as I can never get a straight answer on what American culture is. Many of our holidays are celebrated around the world and many things are. Yeah there's things that are unique to other cultures sure but I couldn't think of more specific things that aren't already done in other parts of the world. I tried coming up with a list but I can't.

@SatanBurger Well, it is a big county, and we’ve split into two cultures now. I can’t say there are any common traits to label as “American.”

As an observing Canadian I'd say that being American involves a certain amount of religiosity, bravado and waving of flag and gun.

My question is are american themselves not immigrant s ..??Did they adopt the ways of the original owners of the lands the red indians ..so basically the culture is to invade n show the world how civilised we are ..sic

@romell I am. Family came over 1900-1910.

@Bumbles still bro you are a immigrant
American Culture is a melting pot. The biggest cities have everything. The best of the best from around the world. American Culture is immigration.

Crime and grifting.

Being irrationally angry at immigrants, for one.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@LordShadowfire Honestly that seems realistic judging from what I've heard from them. It's like the people who say that immigrants aren't adopting our American culture are just mad that people speak other languages or have different books they read or different mannerisms. I know why they can't give me a straight answer when I ask them, it's hard to define what American culture is exactly when America has always had different races.

@RachelLia2003 Well thats excellent news!🤗

Coz, you see, i dont have the attention span of a gnat, AND im SUPER wordy.

I can go on and on, and delve right into a concept and FULLY express the "whole" of it, rather than sptting out half an idea without any depth.

I truly enjoy the art of conversation, as well as the knowing of "stuff" as you put it.
I can really get into that "stuff" .

You see, unlike you, i don't float around, feeling empty, looking for some little squirt of dopamine in tje form of deliberately triggering someone.
No!
I get into subjects that others are passionate about.
I particularly love SatanBurgers posts, as she makes me aware of "stuff" i knew nothing about.
It inspires me to go thrash thru google and discover more.
I become wiser due to her.🤗
(This is where the attention span thingy is really handy 👍)
She talks about real subjects, real happenings. She puts up the sources, she adds exrra background info ....she knows her 'stuffs".
She isn't an attention grabber. She has depth and integrity...and an immense passion for what she writes about.

All these things contribute to character and growth of a person.

She even changes ideas when new information out burns the old.
She evolves.

I trully love rhe fact that you can't read long paragraphs - its truly enabling for me🤗
It gives me the absolute freedom to trash ur ass and laud the person i respect .....all at the same time .
And ur never gonna know !
Sweet 🤌

Anyhoo. Thanks for the chance on letting me see what an utter shampoo, (dammit - that auto corrected, it was supoosed to be 'shallow'....but honestly - shampoo will do ), douche canoe you present to be.
I love being prewarned about dickhead users so i know not to allow them on my posts.
(Or at least scrub up on my better insults🤗)

And since i know you didn't make ot this far down im jist gonna shout out to SB🤗🤗, and say " you're a true treasure" - keep up the good work 👍i always look forward to what nee thing you are gonna help me learn about - even if its sad.
Ypu make me more aware
