Would not care.

Many cities in America got this way through redlining. Self-segregation and economic stratification perpetuate it. I live in a very diverse city. Of course there are neighborhoods that are more white and others that are more Hispanic (not unrelated to economic divisions), but if you walk around this town there's a mix of people everywhere. My school is mixed, my friends are from various ethnicities...no one cares. I would find it weird if the city was completely divided by race.

My family integrated our neighborhood in 1965; we bought our home and the white renters of the houses on either side of us moved out.
I live in an integrated neighborhood in a city that is becoming less integrated through gentrification.

This is not unusual Milwaukee, Chicago, Detroit, and Los Angeles, f have significant Black-White segregation.
This is obviously not forced, or approved, but it is what it is.
You're not alone and we don't live in post racist America. If America is where you live.

@SomeMichGuy And a chunk of LA was razed down to make room for highways in Los Angeles. Mexicans lived there.

Why segregate? All facilities should be available to all as that brings out the best in everyone abd everyone benefits from sport, culture, food, knowledge and humanity
zonavar68 · 56-60, M
@Londonguy23 That gives the impression of existing if you focus only on one class - ie. elite/upper, or middle, or lower.
it's relative though as classism still exists within a class - ie. elite/upper are not all the same, as with middle, and lower.

@zonavar68 its about race, not class, but rhe same principle applies.why should one class have the privilege just because of borth

(imagines that scenario)
Given the majority of my hometown and homeland's people have a similar skin tone, it would...not really work...and we'd not institute such nonsense anyway; goes against our core values...

Alot of outcomes from freedoms, certainly the government is not forcing the segregation therefore the people are choosing to live that way. Why dont you go and move into the black (if you're white) neighborhood if that makes you feel better or just move to a city already integrated.
TBH I think this is a BS post but I responded anyway.

@sylvsn59 everyone on the poor side of town chooses to stay away from the good people! We choose each other, it's not economic brutality.

If I had gone to a segregated school I'd have missed out on some great friends.
Roundandroundwego · 61-69
@robingoodfellow I went to a desegregated school, as well as several not segregated schools. We no longer desegregate.
SomeIrishPerson · 31-35, M
It would be a strange set up here. I live in a village of 300 people and there's only like 3 non white people that I know of.
PlaygirlDizzy · 31-35, F
@SomeIrishPerson that’s insane
PlaygirlDizzy · 31-35, F

lpthehermit · 56-60, M

Adrift · 61-69, F

SpudMuffin · 61-69, M
In the UK?
SpudMuffin · 61-69, M

PlaygirlDizzy · 31-35, F
@SpudMuffin I’m from the U.S. but in UK. I’m just from that city in the U.S. (born and raised)
SpudMuffin · 61-69, M
@PlaygirlDizzy ok, thanks for clarifying that.
