A mouse in the house!!

We have a furry visitor in our house. It seems confinded to our lounge, so we are ensuring we are closing doors behind us in an attempt to keep it confined to the one room.
Ive had humane traps down, but its not been tempted to go in. We put the usual mouse traps down last night. It ate the cheese and choc....but the traps didnt go off!
Clever mouse!

There's a mouse in the UK news who has been secretly filmed tidying up. How do you know he's not trying to help out?
@meggie That was so wild ! 😄

We were infested with mice at one time. The ex decided he wanted to be a survivalist and put all sorts of food down in the basement of our home, unprotected. It drew the mice like crazy. We tried little tiny have a heart traps, but they didn't really address the number that had moved in.

Finally, we had to start thinking about what diseases the mice might carry...and since they were regularly visiting my silverware drawer and leaving droppings...I said lets go nuclear!!! We put D Con all over the basement, and after the mice were gone, had a massive clean up.

Peanut butter forces them to stay in one spot so it might trigger the trap easier.
Cheese or choc they can usually grab super fast and run away.

If their shit wasn't dangerous I wouldn't blink at the occasional mouse. I've had really good luck with those humane traps. They go right for the peanut butter bait. Good luck with them.
Peanut butter works for ours.

Thanks for reminding me that we have to put traps out before the arctic blast hits us.

Put the bait on the base under the trigger.
The new traps are not as easily tripped as the older ones.

Peanut butter. Best bait I've found.
@OldBrit Ooh. Roll it in birdseed, though.

They will squeeze under doors. And there's not just one.

Snap traps by walls(they are agoraphobic), tiny bit of peanut butter on the trip mechanism, SNAP and repeat.

@Rgsmdnr I keep the traps out until they do. Actually, I had someone come in and set out this blue stuff that looks like Breaking Bad meth and it seems to make them leave(to search for water).

@uncalled4 I adjust the trigger so it is more sensitive.
I read about putting the bait under the trigger instead of on top.
They apply more pressure trying to get to the bait.
I haven't needed to try it, but it should work better

@uncalled4 theres no way under these doors, although i know they can get under tiny gaps. I'm hoping theres just one....but you are likely right.
Dont have any peanut butter...we dont like it....but ive heard mice do!
My cat would like to come over for a visit.

It never fails to make me laugh.

@RubySoo WHAT! It is a classic.
@OldBrit Same here, they don't make comedy capers like this anymore.
@RubySoo You need to watch it, it always makes me laugh and smile, even my mother who hates slapstick was crying with laughter.
