One "free" meal a day for every 65+ year old american? Cost. . .

2$ a school meal is assumed cost so 63 million 65 year and older americans. Thats 126 million$ a meal daily either breakfast or lunch only on weekdays?. A total expenditure of $126 milion times 5 is $630 million weekly to feed all retirees (in America). Therefore $630,000,000 multiplied by 52 is $32.76 billion a year to feed all retirees 1 meal (of their choice) daily. Compared to the U.S. military budget of roughly 884 billion (FY 2023) that would be 34B\884B is 3.8% of the military budget to end hunger; among retirees.

Who is proposing this? It is a strange to target this universal benefit at the wealthiest section of the population. It would be far more obvious (and cost efficient) to provide free meals to all school children.

@SunshineGirl yes a previous post i made asked if school aged citizens should receive free breakfast and\or lunch. It received few responses so i rephrased and asked it differently.
