A further irony is that apparently some Americans want Andrew to go to the US and give information on what he knew about Epstein and his "modus operandi". How about asking their own too ?

If Trump releases the Epstein files as he promised to do during his election campaign then the Americans can see which of their own can help the authorities too.
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@gandalf1957 They have said that he can give testimony without leaving this country, so that's one less excuse to get mired in the US legal system.

It has taken quite some time but I am glad to see this happening. Good on our King. 🇨🇦
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@ThePatientAnarchist It was becoming a political embarrassment and the Royal Family cannot abide that.
@FreddieUK They certainly have had a lot of embarrassments to deal with over your lifetime and mine.
gandalf1957 · 61-69, M
Just to be slightly provocative whilst it is a 30 room residence that he is being evicted from, there is no suggestion that he has done anything wrong with respect to the terms of his lease, one sided as it may be, and it is a little ironic that in the same week that landlords have the power of no fault evictions removed by law - he is evicted ....
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@gandalf1957 Good point. I think the decision has obviated a drawn out investigation as to whether he actually has broken the terms of his lease which some politicians were pushing for as part of their grandstanding.
gandalf1957 · 61-69, M
@FreddieUK and ironic to that the Chancellor of the Exchequer is apparently possibly an illicit landlord herself
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@gandalf1957 She's been cleared of deliberate malfeasance, though, by the independent adjudicator. It goes to show that if you're in public office you cannot trust anyone who gives you advice that something has been done or doesn't need to be done.

The Andrew situation has me confused. Though his conduct was hardly exemplary, wasn't the lady involved over legal age in the UK at the time and as far as he knew totally willing? Or is there more I haven't heard about? And wasn't he the royal who in his youth dated soft porn actresses, etc.?
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@ChipmunkErnie It was a new scandalous aspect to what got us to this point: Andrew asked his Police security officer to investigate her quietly. We do not know whether it happened, but the intention is clear.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@FreddieUK Not to pay 12,000,000 pounds?
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@ChipmunkErnie Or worse
It took so long.. I remember the headlines in the news of the world back in the 80s calling him randy Andy..
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@AbsolutelyFabulous That kind of gossip is insufficient for action. As we know, the press make stuff up all the time. 40yrs later and an incriminating BBC interview later, evidence has mounted and finally action taken. Another country elected a man connected in the same circles, who has confessed to grabbing women to high office and many don't seem too bothered.

This was a no win for him. Between a rock and a hard place so to speak. He was known for a relationship with Koo Stark a soft porn star back in the 80s.
So the "I want to be your tampon" king is going to keep all his brother's money and possessions I suppose?
So much for family love. hah
Neoerectus · M
@JamesBugman Uhm ... Andy has been milking others and the his royal positlon for decades.

@FreddieUK I don't see how the British taxpayer is going to benefit at all. According to press reports that I have seen the Crown Estate will have to reimburse Andrew around £500k, which I should imagine he will be happy to receive given that as a non working royal, he gets no money from the taxpayer.

He is being housed at Sandringham on an estate that belongs personally to the Royal family, actually the King (Sandringham & Balmoral both do) so the King is covering any shortfall there on what Andrew can pay him.

Then we come to Royal Lodge itself, Well, again press reports that I have read suggest that because of where it is located amongst other Royals the security requirements mean it can only be occupied by a Royal, and I'm not sure which Royal could live there - so I think it will stand empty and the Crown Estate will have to pay for its upkeep whereas as I understand it previously Andrew had to pay for the upkeep and that is one reason why he had a "peppercorn" rent.

One suggestion was that the Prince & Princess of Wales might have liked to move to the Royal Lodge but that ship has sailed and they are now going nearby instead.

@gandalf1957 Thanks for filling in the detail.

About bloody time...
Are the duke and duchess next?
Britain can only hope ...secretly, I wish they would move back to Canada,but then again,what did Canada do to deserve that?
pot calling the kettle black as far as im concerned.

@JamesBugman The big difference here is that there was absolutely no suggestion that anyone other than Savile himself was involved in his child sexual abuse. Many ignored the signs, but Charles was just one of millions (Savile's media audience included) who were duped. The Epstein scandal is about a conspiracy.
@FreddieUK seems selective .. Jimmy the duper. Epstien the conspirator…

No way epstien just ‘duped’?
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout I agree. No way Epstein just duped. Savile did: he was so secretive he was long dead before it all came out.
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
Its about time he was punished

Eliminate the competition...set up like a bowling pin? 🎳
gol979 · 46-50, M
Oh the irony of the best pal of jimmy saville and fellow wrong un, Charles, pointing his gross sausage fingers at his brother.

And how about jail rather than removal of titles and residence?

The 2 tier corrupt system is becoming ever more visible.
swirlie · 31-35
Surely you're not implying that Donald J. Trump, President of the USA was part of Jeffery's romper room club, are you?
swirlie · 31-35
@FreddieUK
..about what? ...having tea with the Queen?

@swirlie Old man? They are brothers. Big Daddy Windsor, former Prince of Greece and Denmark, is dead.
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@yestestvennaya yes I do.

@yestestvennaya
I know. I was being facetious because Charlie could pass as Andrew's father.
