Those on here saying 'no' are answering the question specifically and narrowly.
The majority of our print media and the dominant voices in our political class are very anti-immigration. A large number of British people (wrongly in my view) blame immigrants for any number of problems: from housing shortages to overcrowded school
Being performatively anti-immigration is a vote winner and Starmer's labour attacked the Tories only by saying that they would deal with 'the problem' more competently.
In spite if this: our politicians don't carry out policies to reduce migration numbers. Boris Johnson quietly passed laws to make it easier to get visas from non-Eu countries. The Blair Labour government talked tough on immigration too but opted in to allowed large numbers of people from eastern Europe. Even while trying to effectively criminalise refugee status with the Rwanda scheme, Sunak did nothing to stop the main avenues for people coming into the country.
Why? Because politicians know that we have low birth rates and skill shortages in important party's of the economy. So we need immigration. Though they won't tell British people the truth and play the anti-immigration card as a vote winner
This is the perfect breeding ground for the far-right and conspiracy theories. When people say that the political class are lying to them, they are actually correct.
Our politicians also blame marginalised groups for societies problems and further legitimise the far-right narratives.
The Conservative Party is not directly responsible for the riots and have condemned them but they have helped create a situation than makes them much more likely.

NO:
They were sparked among gullible extremists who are "islamophobic", by irresponsible people who might not even be in Britain, spreading lies attractive to such people, on the (anti)social-media sites whose owners must take part of the blame.
At least one such one-line trouble-stirrer has already charged with incitement, showing you can be found even if hiding behind a nickname on a chat-site.
One rather chilling aspect of the rioters is that they included children - I think the youngest charged was only 12 or 13. For them, clearly their parents are at fault either for grooming them into being thugs and vandals, or simply allowing them to go along with such types.

No the initial riot was caused because of misinformation about the man arrested for the murder or attempted murder of the children he attacked in the street.
Nigel Farage went on television and either made assumptions, or more worryingly, was tipped-off by somebody working in the police force/legal system about the man's social/legal status.
Some of the rioters then used that as the reason for their behaviour

It didn't directly cause or provoke the riots. But it has created a hostile environment in which racial and religious tolerance have become mainstream and are not sufficiently challenged by politicians. This may have encouraged some rioters to consider that their behaviour was acceptable.
Strictly speaking, no.
However, when you look at the bigger scale... the attitudes from governments does create friction for how people on the streets are treated.
You have seen anti immigration riots - but the government has been hating on disabled people for just as long... and disability hate crimes have been increasing and under reported as a result of that.
If we have to choose to have some sort of "anti" riot like this, I would rather it be anti immigration rather than anti disability - because immigrants are generally fitter and more able to escape to a safer place than the disabled are.
Yes, I do fear that the longer anti disability rhetoric continues, the more likely we are to see issues with disabled people getting attacked - and potentially violently.

The Conservative Party used anti-immigration rhetoric while presiding over a large increase in immigration - an obviously dangerous combination. The Labour Party is perceived by those who want to reduce immigration as even weaker than the Tories. Islamophobia was certainly a factor, but it's important to be clear what one means by that. Fear of Islam or Muslims in general (largely unjustified, except that a growing Muslim population may seem to pose a threat to British traditions). Or fear of violent Islamism (amply justified).

No. It was the liberal policies that brought the people responsible for the riots.
It's happening in other countries too. It's the same type of stuff that the refugees fled, bringing it to countries that were nice/naiveenough to allow them to resettle..

UK Citizens are sick and tired of the two tiered system, how the government is ignoring the grooming gangs targeting girls and young women for violent assaults and heinous sexual violations.
