Apparently some Councils are taking them down Nationalism is out nowadays, my Council in Caerphilly so far have turned a blind eye to flags flying from lamp-posts on Caerphilly mountain.

Based on personal observation, it might be because the would-be flag erector shouted racial abuse at a group of young men shortly before embarking upon his chivalrous mission, thereby leaving himself vulnerable to reciprocal action.
