I think this is harsh because we did play well and it could easily have gone the other way.

I don't know what people expect because there are several major powers in world football and we are only one of them. We don't have the best squad in the world (just one of the best) so we shouldn't be expected to actually win it. You can make the case that we have the third-best squad but even that is arguable. We could have won it if everything went our way but so many other teams can say that.

I was more pissed off with previous teams that just played badly and were never even contenders. The performance was generally strong, as it was in the Euros. We just came up against a good team and played well, with big moments going against us.

I think there are some harsh comments here. We were the better team, but all that was missing was testing the goalkeeper more. Not enough attempts on goal. They worked hard and were patient playing up to the box but couldn't find the pass to get us in. We couldn't have stopped either goal. Didn't choke or get unlucky, just lost a tough but fair game of football by one goal 🤷‍♀️ Sad, but no complaints.

Spent to much time moving ball sideways the team getting ball in box most normally scores more goals , the next World Cup is ours will be 60yrs then since last big win

I just little bit surprised Harry Kane didn't do well this time. I guess Harry can't score without Son.

I love England, and that game upset me, but I am hoping to see Messi win a cup before his career is over.

We didn't have a good summer and we came through a relatively easy group so any world beating expectations should have been tempered with reality. In the end we gave a respectable performance but we couldn't score in open play and didn't make many chances to do so. Even if we scored the second penalty, we couldn't score a goal in open play so we would likely have either lost in extra time or lost in the penalty shootout. England have a good squad and are a decent team but Southgate is risk adverse and at some point you have to take a chance and be bold.

I gave up watching football long ago lol
