One day it may happen, but not in any of our lifetimes. To un-do UK crown control of all land in Australia is a massive legal and logistic task.
The legislative framework under which Australia would 'cede' from UK control would be interesting to navigate.
I wonder if there is any sort of legal 'standard' for doing it?

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout K Rudd has been the only person close to having the right approach. Clive Palmer paints himself as future 'president elect' of Australia which is pukeworthy.

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout Trump answers the phone to those who pay him, or people he wants to make pay. Or MR Putin, who actually runs the USA by proxy (if you believe the hype). Kevin is very good at statecraft - something few politicians anywhere in the world are. Most politicians feel the only way it works is 'gun to the head' negotiations.
