It sounds like Australia is much better at dealing with riots, damaging federal property, and violence against police officers than we are in the USA. "Peacefui" protesters burnt half our cities and got away with it. L

@Playfulanddaring I would have to agree with you. And I think the answer comes in two parts. First, while no nation is perfect and certainly not mine, the total level of injustice thrown at those at the lower end of the food chain is just so much less here. The social systems, health systems, education and opportunities are just so much better. (on the whole, of course there are bad examples) And second, because the number of firearms is WAY down, the police are trained and expected to behave in a more measured way.
Overal, this means less discontent, and less likelihood of a flashpoint situation arising.😷

It comes to this. Both safety and freedom are valuable. Each individual is empowered to decide which is more valuable to them.

If the protected(vaccinated)need to be protected from the unprotected by forcing the unprotected to get the protection that didn’t protect the protected, something might by a bit off.
@whowasthatmaskedman Kind of sad that those claiming everyone else is scared sheep are the people cowering in fear of everything under the sun and seem to amuse themselves by creating new things to live in fear of.

Wow. Police dealing with them too lightly....wtf. They have been shot with rubber bullets, had sculls cracked open, tear gassed, and what looks like the army on the streets.....and the protesters are unarmed

It's straight up tyranny. But here we are cheering on the oppressors
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@gol979 I sincerely wish you all the luck in the world. But I dont want to share a plane, a movie theatre or a restaurant with you.😷
zerofuks2give · 41-45, M
@whowasthatmaskedman then stay at home 🤷🏻‍♂️
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@zerofuks2give Thats exactly what we do. Only leaving for necessary shopping and appointments. Which is fine, although I am starting to look like Beethoven.😷
They shouldn't be fined for just being there though. People have a right to protest.
Well attacking people should definitely be off limits. @nedkelly
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Spoiledbrat No. They dont.. Not when the state is in lockdown. And even if they had that right there was hardly a mask in sight. Another offence under lockdown. These are the rules everyone has lived with here for over 260 days.😷
I didn't realize you were in lock down. I've never had anything like that happen. @whowasthatmaskedman

People say "I'd avoid that like the plague " but when the plague comes along, some don't want to avoid it.
That particular individual sounded alot like the nutbars I saw from Sky News.

It's harder to understand in the US unless you directly look for Aussie news, and trolls have their day

Ive been avoiding the coverage as as Mwlbournian it's embarrassing.
Like I fucking hate the lockdown, have a panic attack at the thought of needles, doctors or anything. But I'm not being a dick
@whowasthatmaskedman just ignore him.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@BalladOfADeadSoulja I have not responded, nor will I. I dont see it as a problem for you, Unless you know something about that obviously faked account I dont.😷
@whowasthatmaskedman ever seen that thing before in my life, was like what the fuck? Lol.
plungesponge · 41-45, M
I've seen support voiced for the protestors but it always seems to have an armchair observer's "fvck da police, I'm a gangster too" vibe from tryhards who didn't and would never show up.

Every professional I know is on the same side as the veterans and nurses saying it's just pointless idiocy. The "let's bumrush the authorities" appeal seems to be solely with dudes with too much time on their hands because they're not doing much with their lives
nedkelly · 61-69, M
FUCKIN GRUBS, certain places are off limits when protesting such as the Shrine of Remeberance

I am not sure all of the protesters were genuine I would say the old rent a crowd would be out in force. If you start attacking the police or spitting on workers you should face jail time.

John Setka is not a decent and in fact he is a low life piece of whale shit with his convicted of harassment towards his ex-wife
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@nedkelly Agreed on all points.. However this mob actually howled Setka down when he tried to speak, threw things and charged the building. There were not a lot of genuine unionists in that mob..😷
