Has the US entertainment industry stopped making movies?

Seems like whenever I go to Prime or NetFlix I go through a half dozen false starts before finding movies where they speak English. I don't mind foreign movies with English subtitles, but then I have to wear my glasses and too often the subbies fly by so fast that I have to occasionally stop the program and hit reverse for a few seconds.

80% plus of everything I buy seems to be made in China or someplace other than an English speaking location. Apparently that includes movies.

From the 1990s until about 2020, I used to go to the movies alot. Today, I am lucky if I go see a movie 2 or three times a year. Hollywood isn't making that many interesting movies anymore.

@Barefooter25 Yeah, that's the trouble with politically correct group think. Creativity dies.

I don't think we can rely on Hollywood to entertain us, anymore. They are out of ideas, and they are too politically correct to appeal to the general American public. They've become an iconoclastic institution bent of the destruction of American traditions and morality.

ALSO...Prime and Netflix obviously can't afford to buy more American made movies...so they've gone to the bargain store.
@4meAndyou Most of my favorite movies over the past few years were not US movies. Even with the non English language and English subtitles.

they still make movies but netflix has a lot of international series
Prime usually has better movies.

It is OBVIOUSLY all a conspiracy which can be blamed on Biden! Anyone planning to go see Melania?

Netflix are not mainstream movies and therefore are not subject to US regulatory approval before airing.

That is why most Netflix movies have scenes that you wouldn't otherwise see in even an 'X-Rated, Adults must be accompanied by both parents' American film production advertised on an American Roxy Theatre marquis on the main street of Hooterville.

That is why non-English movies appear on Netflix but not on mainstream American movies that are available to the public.

Netflix as a movie option is not available as 'free public viewing' which is why Netflix is not subject to regulatory approval, which is also why you need to subscribe to Netflix to take part in their kind of action.

If it was made past about 2000 it generally is a revamped idea with homosexual or trans characters added for DIE.

We just stopped making movies worth watching
