What is the relationship between USA and Canada?

Both sides manage to cooperate efficiently on keeping their shared boundary strong.
There's a bit of trade, but neither would be poorer without it.
For the most part, it seems most citizens each prefer their own country and cultures in almost all aspects of life. Only a tiny proportion travel across as tourists or students. And only the tiniest fraction of those leave their country to move permanently to the other.

There are plenty of mutually derogatory jokes.
Maybe, that indicates some sort or permanent mutual prejudice and dislike.

But who knows, maybe the external image is not the reality - maybe it's not at all what it seems.

We like to poke innocent fun at each other, we seem to get along.
