Good morning SW. As most of you know my wife and I are leaving Florida ahead of hurricane Ian.

Stay Safe Stereoguy. I'm putting a new circuit service panel in to alow my new 28kv generator to power our home when the storm come north and if it is bad we will havw power outage and this is normal up here during the fall and winter.... I hope it dosen't cause a lot of dammage...

Y’all are doing the right thing. It’s always best to leave the area if possible, and come back when it’s safe. Living near the Gulf coast of Texas, we are certainly no strangers to hurricanes either. Hoping all turns out ok for you all.

well i live on the other coast. we had tornado warnings and sirens all night long. up and down the coast. heavy rains to the point of flooding. i live about 4 hrs from you. my trip was cancelled too of course

yeah. overtime. but they are leaving homes and families for extended periods of times - and they risk their life to help people.

Good for you to know when to leave. Yeah, we seem to be ready collectively down here. No crazy gas lines, all the water's gone, of course, but smart people have it on hand.

Central Florida, here. Cleared the back yard and secured flying debris. W e're expecting winds in the 70-80 range, but we're ready. Storm surge, flooding, power and tornadoes are the worry. Hosting another with less secure surroundings.

I heard from another online friend that the winds are going to pick up to 120 mph, not supposed to make landfall till tomorrow. She is 12 miles from the coast near Sarasota.
