Question for conservatives who support the Florida parental rights bill

Given the language of the bill, how should a teacher answer a question from a first grade student about why Billy has two dads and no mom?

Does the teacher just say they can't talk about that? Is that the kind of censorship you really want in our schools?

Tell them to talk to the parents it's not the teachers place to try to explain it.

@kodiac why not? Is it something wrong? Should Billy be ashamed of his dads?

@ViciDraco No he shouldn't but if he was my kid I'd want him to talk to me it's a very personal topic and what if the teacher was a homophobe? We can't assume all teachers agree with different lifestyles.

@kodiac homophobic teachers should be censured. The same way we would try to react to a teacher that was trying to promote slavery.

@ViciDraco i just don't think it's up to teachers to try instill morals or values into kids ,it's a part of parenting not education.

@kodiac if I didn't know so many terrible parents pushing their bigotry and hatred onto their children I might be inclined to agree. But we need to divorce ourself from this fear of strangers and every family being and island and begin building communities again.

@ViciDraco If it was 50 years ago I'd agree the world is not a safe place now for kids ,in todays world the odds are 50 50 that the teacher is a child molester so little billy needs to be told by a stranger that sex between boys is ok and the grooming begins .
