The homeless issue is caused by people not living their supposed values. They'll say they want affordable housing and etc, until plans are made to include it in their own neighborhoods
XenonRush · M
So it’s hypocrisy?
@deadgerbil
deadgerbil · 22-25
@XenonRush partially and they can't use republicans as an excuse bc California is a pretty blue state
XenonRush · M
So, do democrats help or hurt Cali?
@deadgerbil
BlueVeins · 22-25
Systemic racism and classism. The rich, predominantly white elites living in California's vast suburbs have used exclusionary zoning laws to keep the lower class away from themselves, strangling the supply of housing and raising rents through the roof. This is especially bad in California because they're a tech hub with a lot of high skilled workers, who can bid a shit ton of money for limited apartments.

This vast ocean of suburban sprawl has, in turn, made public transit, walking, and biking infeasible throughout most of the state, which further hurts the state's impoverished population by forcing them to buy and maintain cars, which is very expensive.

Crazy Liberalism, with no actual plan.
calicuz · 51-55, M
@XenonRush

The politics are so far to the left, the right, not the radical right, and the middle have no voice.
empanadas · 31-35, M
@calicuz damn bruh I'm from north Cal too. Most of my family left California. It's really sad to see what happened to such a beautiful state
calicuz · 51-55, M
@empanadas

It really is sad. I still have my siblings back there in Cali, and they tell me the homeless problem is way out of hand.

Corruption, liberalism, democrats. The left can do whatever they want there without fear of being held accountable. Now the libs are promising 5 million per black person for slavery reparations, and California was not a slave state. Its a ploy to motivate the stupid to vote for a payday that will never come.
Bill1372 · 51-55, M
@TexChik - how would the government distinguish between which black people in this country are truly descendants of slaves first of all… Secondly, my family emigrated here in the early 1900’s so not sure why I should be paying taxes toward the evils committed by others well over a century ago. People basically want compensation for something that occurred 150-200 years ago, long before they were born. It’s actually the craziest idea I’ve ever heard of.
TexChik · F
@Bill1372 It does not matter. Unless those individuals looking for a handout can show me the whip marks on their backs, the scars on their ankles from the chains, and the scars on their hands from picking cotton... it's a moot point. No one is entitled to anything.
Baremine · 70-79, C
California is falling apart because the governor is an absolute idiot. If California washed out to sea wouldn't be a great loss.

@Darksideinthenight2 I will take my Midwest agriculture any day. Watching the weather? I love living in tornado alley. And as far as California economy Dumbass Gavin and the worthless democrats have destroyed that. Seems like California is the homeless capital of the world.

Cause it’s a dump run by liberals. Allowing people to live on the street in front of buildings, shooting up and using the street as a toilet is why. You own a million dollar condo in San Fran only to walk outside and see needles laying around on the sidewalk- maybe that has something to do with it. Or maybe, the liberal politicians not allowing the cops to arrest people for shoplifting under $1000 dollars… Duh?!? If 10 people shoplift a day several hundreds of dollars worth of merchandise, how is that store going to survive? Zero common sense running that state.
PatKirby · M
@Bill1372

That place is broken like the leftist and liberal politicians who ran it into the poorhouse. They have a website now where you can see who has the worst feces on their street. It's like the wild west now. People are weird too. Glad I left in 2006.
Bill1372 · 51-55, M
@PatKirby only see that in places run by Dems. Republicans would never allow such anarchy.
It's getting expensive to live here.
@Spoiledbrat ugh.....same here.
House and rent prices doubled in less than a year...its bullshit .
BlueVeins · 22-25
@Spoiledbrat @OogieBoogie This is why we need re-education camps for NIMBYs.
originnone · 61-69, M
I don't think people are beating down the door to get out of California....
PatKirby · M
@sunsporter1649
I guess he could bearly live there anymore.
originnone · 61-69, M
@PatKirby I see what you did there.....
PatKirby · M
@originnone
Left in 2006, could bearly wait.
Northwest · M
Holy shit. California is falling apart? So then one can buy a house in San Francisco for next to nothing, right?
@Northwest Of course, the folks who live in "Klan-land" have to weigh in about "the liberals". 🙄
jackson55 · M
Run by leftists, just like NY.
@jackson55 I would still rather live among them than right-wingers. I’ve done both in my lifetime.
PatKirby · M
Because it deserves to.
i think everywhere is suffering. Inflation is off the scale, jobs are harder to get....if youre not already 'set' with a home and employment, life is fucking struggle.....and getting worse.😔
empanadas · 31-35, M
People who say California is not falling apart.. please explain the exodus that's currently happening right now.
empanadas · 31-35, M
@Darksideinthenight2 California is not that great dude. If you enjoy high taxes, deadly fires, earthquakes and ridiculous traffic than yeah. Tbh the USA as a whole is becoming a shit hole.

@empanadas I will say this about earthquakes: I’ve experienced 1 major earthquakes along with the small ones, in roughly 59 years, with very minimal property damage where I lived. My family that’s remained in Louisiana, on the other hand, deals with hurricanes and gets flooded pretty regularly.
I'm sure you've already made up your mind what the reason is, so I won't be participating in your little rigged poll.
