@SW-User he was friends with sinners and outcasts. Basically outsiders who weren't considered welcomed members of society and going by today's society if you show any support for anyone who isn't a white male and considered an outsider you are "woke"

The story of the Good Samaritan has lost its point. During the times of Jesus the Samaritans were despised, not [i]real Jews[/i], outside the pale. Transpose the story into our own day.....
A black man is mugged and virtually left for dead in the street. A "born-again" Christian walks past, ignoring his plight. A vicar with white collar strolls by but does not stop. Then an asylum seeker, gay, fresh off a boat landed on the beach, sees the man and stops to help, sharing what little he has.

Yes, as has been implied......every society and age will have its "outsiders". Most Christians seem to indulge in picking out "outsiders".
