Church dinner update

243 people of all denomination and walks of life showed up at my anabaptist church last night for supper. More than one woman apologized cause they had pants on tommorrow im gonna do something ive never done show up to a church activity in pants instead of a dress for the first time since i was baptized shortly bdvore i married 10 years ago. Maybe that will put women more at ease with it. I wear pants at home when im working in the garden and in the colder days of winter

Years ago, we moved to a rural community and attended a small Methodist Church. My wife and two other ladies decided to break the rule and wear pantsuits to church. They got hugs from almost all the other ladies, and the next Sunday there were more pants than dresses.

@exexec well this is a community event i would never show up to church and definitely not to work which i work in the school our church runs in pants. in fact the female students of our school are not allowed to wear pants

@hippyjoe1955 my church has a regular attendance of nearly 300 but of the people that came for the meal last night id say around 75 were members of the church though there was 15 of us working between the ones serving and others who kept our children in the school gym. We also had help from other churches in our area that are helpihg fund this as well. Tommorrow night were planning chili last night was spaghetti

@Mountainlady16 Good for you guys. Wonderful church you have. I think I prefer spaghetti to chilli but that is just me. lol I bet you have lots of kids to keep track of in the gym.

@hippyjoe1955 i think by the end the night it was over 50 eped serving cause all the volunteers to help with the clean up. Alot the older kids including my oldest 3 helped with the work. My son helped hand out drinks and my daughter helped make sure we had plenty of silverware. tommorrow night might not be as crazy because alot of ppl will be at their own churches for wens service but not everyone that was there goes to church
