I'm a Christian and more than willing to be a friend but getting closer to Jesus is kind of between you and Jesus. He is alive and active in our world and in our lives.

Jesus was and is God. He isn't of any particular religion. He did establish the Christian Church and that is enough. The old covenant under which He lived and died and rose again is obsolete and has been replaced.

I have been reading and scrolling through the comments on my post, and it seems like some are having misunderstandings or disagreements? That's ok. My only goal once again is to be closer to God without any arguments from other people :)

The LORD Jesus in the above verse means The God Jesus.. He is not A Lord, He is THE LORD..
(1 Corinthians 12:3) "Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is The Lord, but by the Holy Ghost."

I did not come to bring peace but a sword. 35 For I have come to ‘set[a] a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’; 36 and ‘a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.’ 37 He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. 38 And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me."

Jesus didn't come to bring easy, worldly peace but a transformative, often divisive, confrontation with sin and worldly comfort, forcing a choice: loyalty to Him or to family/self.

@JesusIsWithMe Jesus plainly said that he had only been sent to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. He was born the king of the Jews and died the king of the Jews. How did you get included when he plainly denied you?
