Is there any Christian brethren or sistren that are versed in the bible or our religion?

I wish to learn more about the big man in the sky, but I’ve come to learn it’s not as simple as picking up a bible.

There’s so many bibles I don’t know which one I should be reading, I just know the big guy in the sky ALWAYS had my back!

Im a spiritual person but struggle being what I’m told is a good Christian, I haven’t had a pleasant life so I’m not your average “turn the cheek” type of Christian and I’m working on not cussing as much.

I remember in Sunday school they told me the lord warns of false prophets and idols that try to separate us from god. I don’t wanna be without god ever! 🙏

For those of you not Christian I wish you blessings of your designated deities or lack their of. 🤝

I know it well. I do comparative studies between versions and look Greek and Hebrew with interlinear verses. Context gives meanings of verses rather than reading verses in isolation and racking your brain on what they mean. We need a day to day relationship with God, the bible informs us on how to do that better, it isn't a list of things to do in a legalistic manner.

@SpiritualMan So you study the bible and see what aligns with it from different religious scriptures?

I was saying earlier it’s my FIRM BELIEF that the Greek and Norse gods are fallen angels.

They looked the way they did and have the power they did because they just fell from the heavens.

Over time gods turned to Pharos, Pharos turned to kings, and kings turned to presidents that keep the world divided by their own person lust.

Why does both Greek and Norse mythology have such similar gods and tales?

If god casted fallen angels down to earth, and we are currently where they were casted which I’m to believe is hell would that not mean we are in hell?

Or atleast some type of limbo where we are being judged based on our life’s to see if we are worthy of entering heaven as we were born in hell?

What if we are descendants of the fallen angels and because of their crimes against god we must prove if we are worthy of redemption and that’s why he sent Jesus to die for our sins so we could have the chance to repent!

Sorry if that seems crazy but these thoughts PLAUGE ME!
@Sleepysheep I don't think we are descendants of fallen angels in general. We inherited sin from them by acts of our will, not physical seed. There might be remnants of Nephilim DNA in some people, but our big problem is when we choose to rebel against God, not leftover DNA in some people.
@Sleepysheep I still think most of us only have remnants of otherworldly DNA in us at most. Of course by Greek and Hebrew I mean studying some of the original wording of the bible with more precise definitions of words. When people fully rebel against God we might as well count as fallen angels, such as the false teachers in Jude and II Peter, but that is a matter of the heart, not DNA. Egypt came first, then Greece, and a it seems the pantheon of gods had similar personalities across ancient cultures, but different names, that is very interesting.

I came to faith in Jesus back in 1985.
You have the freedom to find a Bible that is understandable to you. English Standard Version ESV, New American Standard Bible NASB, New International Version NIV, New English Version NET, or New Living Translation NLT are all good modern translations.

Some good YouTube Channels to watch are Waddo You Meme [media=https://youtu.be/aohqpQxneEQ?si=H0YyaATFSlkKtmaP]

Find a good Evangelical church to worship at.

Feel free to message me with questions or if you would like to talk more.

Pray the Lord guides you as you seek Him.

Let's talk about bibles for a minute here, ok? There are at least two and a half to three dozen versions of the bible that are sold today. Now each one of these bibles has a carrying number of editors, they are written from various points of view, and they all have a grade level of reading. Now the 1611 KJV is the gold standard, it is the closest translation from the Hebrew and Greek. The KJV also reads at a college level. There are a couple versions that should be avoided like the plague, but I'll not get into that here. But overall, you might want to consider a side by side comparison of different translations.

I have found that a good guide to start with to living a Christian life are the Beatitudes and the book of James. The Beatitudes is pretty self explanatory, whereas the book of James might need a little explaining. There is a little book called "The 24/7 Christian." What it is is a book that breaks down every portion of the book of James and how to put it into practice in everyday life. The book of James essentially is a guidebook for how christians should conduct themselves.

Hope this helps.
Sleepysheep · 26-30, M
@powernap Thanks taking the time to read and help with this dilemma.

For bibles the king James is where I should begin do you think? So the (24/7) Christian’s is a more laymen’s guide books of conduct and the king James message?

So are these bibles of different perspective points/continuations of the bible or a part of the bible itself?

May I ask what you mean by levels of readings, like the ability to distinguish metaphor's and philosophy from truth or its written in archaic or another language?

I’ve been baptized quiet a few times, my father would go to different church’s because he don’t really get it either.

I’d also love to know about angels, I’ve seen that they aren’t all what we imagined and look quite horrifying.

Is there anything about angels in the (24/7) Christians or King James or is that a different book? My biggest Angel question would obviously be “do I have a guardian angel”?

I know I’m not the sharpest butter knife in the drawer but nobody ever explained this to me.

I find it’s also easier to learn when I have somebody with a like mind to speak with on the subject!

@Sleepysheep I found the paper with all the bible information on it. Message me on here and I will send you pictures of it.

Beware not of the things you hear people preaching about but about the things that they conveniently skip over. The Bible is a fascinating book that reads like a science fiction story but yet it is not portrayed as such. If it were portrayed as it is written our Christian religions would be so much stronger. It’s not just a book but rather a constitution written for the kingdom of heaven. You’ll often hear people saying the stories in the Bible are written in a metaphorical way, but are they really?
Blackie · 51-55, M
@Sleepysheep I agree with you it’s not metaphorical. As far as your points about the many gods you’re correct. I mean after the 3rd incursion at the Tower of Babel God divided the nations between the elohim, but kept Israel for himself. The Elohim “little gods” took worship for themselves so God vowed to disinherit them. Well we know fallen angels lost their Devine Grace all having been influenced by Lucifer. I’d say the spirts of the dead nephilim are the ones that truly roam the earth searching for the destruction of souls. The anti-Christ I believe will come from some hybridization of man himself, it’s the only way this can happen.
Sleepysheep · 26-30, M
@Blackie Hybridization of man kind of like A.I. And the very real fact we are now placing chips in our heads and augmenting our body’s.

I feel as though the gods turned into, kings and queens, than presidents and world leaders separating us, each country a dominion or plain of hell that was once eden (Pangea) before the earth was divided and separated and all these “gods” spread their influence spread their influences in their own territories trying to corrupt gods children.

I know I sound kind of mental but the truth is alway SO CRAZY it makes the lies seem BELIEVABLE.
Blackie · 51-55, M
@Sleepysheep I don’t think they turned into kings and queens but rather influenced those that took power with pleasures of the flesh and gave them a false doctrine to follow. I do believe there are some directly linked to the nephilm lineage. We then elect these people whether through rigged elections or deception hence giving them dominion over us. Remember dominion was given to man (Adam) by God. This is the only way the dragon can legally obtain power over the nations.

I first read the New King James Bible.. That lead me to becoming a Christian. I now read the King James Bible..

If i was a new Christian i would at lest read the New Testament.. Which incidently is not a really long read.. The majority of scripture in the Bible is The OLD Testament..

Jesus said in the New Testament that ONLY GOD IS GOOD.. So there are NO GOOD Christians.. There are only Christians who believe God and trust God.. In the final judgement these Christians will have their sins forgiven and will be gifted eternal life in Gods perfect eternal existence.. Not because they where good enough but because they will be justly forgiven all the bad things that made them not good enough..

As for false prophets.. Yep there are many many false prophets doing the rounds.. Many of them speak from church pulpits weekly to congregations who assume they are Christians.. So make sure you are a follower of the LORD Jesus rather then a follower of men..
Adstar · 56-60, M
@Blackie Do you have a definition of ""Repent"" ? What is it to repent Blackie?
Blackie · 51-55, M
@Adstar what it means to me is to humbly come before God and acknowledge that I have sinned and I ask that I may be forgiven. Because like the prodigal son. I believe every time we leave to live in the world we move farther away from our fathers house. It’s only when we come back and ask to be forgiven, even though we are undeserving of it, our father takes us back into his family.

Agreed.. 👍

I have looked through a few versions and although they differ on some trivial points, the bottom line is all the same, so don't worry about it, find whichever version you can understand the best.
Sleepysheep · 26-30, M
@fanuc2013 I hear people been saying good things about the king James or new international version.
Musicman · 61-69, MVIP
I am definitely a believer. I have also attended Bible Study for the last 20 years. Personally I like the NIV version.
Sleepysheep · 26-30, M
@Musicman Amen brother, so what are some of your favourite passages of that version of good book?
tammymom · 41-45, F
New Living Translation is pretty solid.
Sleepysheep · 26-30, M
@tammymom Is that older than the King James Bible? Is it catholic because I dont know if I’m supposed to read the catholic bible.

Most of my family are against the practice of Catholicism and claim we are Protestant or Pentecostal I always forget.

I know I believe in God and Jesus now I’m hearing about a 3rd person the spirit or the ghost. I believe it’s called the trinity I just don’t know if that’s a part of my branch of Christianity.
