It’s easier for a camel to enter the kingdom to pass through the eye of a needle

Poll - Total Votes: 12
If we feel that we are weathy enough we give & give to the poor.
If we are wealthy we should only give some & die with the rest
If we are wealthy we should give a minimal amount
If we are wealthy we should let the poor find their own assistance and give nothing

I just came *across* a good post ( will find & quote) which prompted me comment. However my thoughts became more than just a passing comment so I decided to instead post this.

Wealthy is the opposite end of the scale to Impoverished.

Where one of these financial circumstance exists very likely will the other.

I don’t believe God would bar a wealthy person from entering his kingdom. Because the devil (so to speak) where the scripture states “it is ‘easier’ for a camel to pass through an eye of a needle 🪡 than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of god “

Let’s examine when will wish to enter Gods kingdom?
This will likely be on his death.

Fact is too many rich people die .. leaving vast amounts of wealth, which could have easily changed the lives of those in need.
This is a great sin and something they could have actively changed whilst they were alive.

But instead chose to hoard the resources for themselves and quite possibly their close family members who themselves were unlikely to have needed all of it.
Paying lip service by donating a small amount to charity is likely an insult as well.

Personally I believe that we should dedicate our earthly lives to giving as and where it’s needed. Very often this need is found at a grassroots level .

I don’t mean those who are in need because they have squandered or mismanaged their money.
I mean those who are through no fault of their own are born into or living in abject poverty. They are souls waiting to saved.

God places them here as a barometer for a developmental tool for rich persons conscience. Otherwise how else can his compassion for humanity be measured?

This lesson is not just for the richest of of men and women. It’s a universal lesson and test, that each of us are here for.

I would want to ensure that I had been a philanthropist within an inch of my life before I left this world.
After all if God had blessed me with exceptional wealth, I’m certain philanthropy,
Would have been my life’s mission and what an enjoyable privilege it will have been.
To able to gift light & hope 🙏🏽.. in an otherwise dismal world.

For Christians who are wealthy (I don't know any), they must be good stewards of the money God has given them.

I believe they are almost certainly called to give more- whether God calls them to give more of their wealth to a good Gospel Church, Christian charity or to the poor in general depends.

@BritishFailedAesthetic whilst I feel established Charities have a place in the world of benevolence,

I’m forever mindful that many registered charities are large corporations. Has such deduct salaries & ‘ expenses’ which do many a time decrease the amounts donated to the cause.

This why I approve the gift of philanthropy above everything it also means the philanthropist is not content to sit behind a desk signing cheques.

They are prepared to travel or send a travelling representative to the places their monies are needed most.

Matthew 19:24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

When Jesus said this, he was speaking regretfully of a wealthy young man whom he had invited to come and follow Him. Jesus asked him to give up all of his land and his wealth first, but the young man said that he just owned TOO much to be able to give it all away.

Matthew 19:25-19:30

25 When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?
26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
27 Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?
28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
30 But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.

It is not about money. With each dollar, your desire, your urge to increase your value, your worth by one more dollar further increases till the time you are alive. True or false?

With money comes Ego, with money comes pride. Few people worship money. Few nations worship money. Take a peek at the culture of the Nation giving second largest immigrants to USA - They worship Goddess Lakshmi, A goddess of Money on every Divali, it's their festival of light. They worship money intensely.

When you worship money, when you keep thinking about adding further more, it's not easy for you my friend, to enter the kingdom of heaven with all that greed.

Bill Gates, classic example. At his age, what he should do? Going by what you suggest, he has earned enough and he should retire and distribute. What he is doing? Fund transfer, biolab inauguration and all? Where will he go?

--------------Greed curve grows more than even exponential growth curve---------------

@DanielsASJ @BritishFailedAesthetic This verse does address money and how we're to think about it, because the Bible says it's not money that is evil, but the love of money that is evil.

The Bible doesn't say a rich person can't go to heaven. He does want us to be good stewards with our money, however. Rich people can even be saved, and are. However, they shall be held accountable for what they did with whatever God gave them, and their motive behind it.

[@Kaetana} Why do you ignore the rules of charity given in these verses?

Tobit 4:17 (CEB) = “Place your bread and wine on the tombs of the righteous, but don’t give anything to sinners."

Sirach 12:3 (CEB) ="There is nothing good for those who continue to do evil or for those who don’t freely offer charity.

4 Give to the pious, but don’t assist sinners.

5 Do good to the humble, but don’t give to the ungodly.
Hold back your bread, and don’t give it to them,
since by it they might gain power over you.
You will encounter twice as much evil for all the
good things that you have done for them.

6 The Most High also hated sinners, and he will repay the ungodly with punishment.

7 Give to good people, and don’t assist sinners."

Remember, Jesus never gave anything material to the poor.

@Diotrephes 🤔 please explain
Luke 12:16-20
King James Version
16 And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:

17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?

18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.

19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.

20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?

Luke 6:38
King James Version
38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
I have different views on this
@Kaetana okay fair enough...
So donating will solve their problems or make them fortunate enough?
Kaetana · 56-60, F
@Royricky09 I’d say it will help 🙂
@Kaetana but after some time they will again be in the same situation.
So you'd donate again?
