Christians- Do you encourage preachers?

I remember at the questions in a Bible study, our elderly sister in Christ (she is like a grandma to my wife and I ❤) saying she always encourages genuine preachers of the Gospel when she sees them in the street.

Today after a job interview at Canary Wharf there was a British Nigerian man preaching the Gospel. THE GOSPEL-not a watered down one, making it all about you!!!!!!

He preached on the wrath of God coming and Christ (God The Son) taking the wrath of God The Father on the cross, rightfully meant for us, so that those who come to Christ and accept His sacrafice can be saved from the wrath to come.

It was a blessing to say thanks to him and to be an encouragement as I can't imagine he recieves much.

This man was not afraid to preach what John 3:36 explicitly says!!!!!

May we as Christians always encourage GENUINE preachers of the Gospel (not heretics like JWs). It is a thankless job and most of us do not have the guts to do it.

Respectfully I have to disagree, the reason being is that in the early days when a person is searching for something which we as Christians know to be Jesus, they are not ready to hear the harder messages and sometimes it can do more harm than good when a street preacher is giving out a heavy "repent or perish" message to people who do not know God. It pushes them away. I hope that these preachers pray first and ask the holy Spirit to guide them. What I know of God is that he is infinity loving, gentle and compassionate. That is the side of God I would think would be a gift to share.

Why is this loving God watching in silence at the killing and violence going on in the Middle East? He created us, right? What's going on here with all that loving and compassion, PatientlyWaiting25?

That is true but in our state of original sin, we do not naturally choose God. We love those attributes of God but shy away from others.

@BritishFailedAesthetic I think when we grow in faith and develop a personal relationship with God, God reveals more of himself to us as and when we are ready. The church needs to focus on helping existing Christians to develop their understanding of Scripture and their relationship with God within the church, It's not the place for it on the street.

@sree251 The killing in the middle east is down to humans, not God. If humans were obedient to God there would be no killing.

@sree251 if i may offer a perspective you may be overlooking about why God would let all the violence occur around the world. ..How else are they going to get to heaven?

Maybe God knows what's waiting for them, so God allows us to carry on the way we carry on. We're at the top of the food chain. Every other species on the planet has another species keeping it in check.

Death is only tragic immediately as it occurs to most of whom who it happens to and thereafter only for those who survive. But if heaven is real, and our energy exists there in peace for eternity, when we are reunited in heaven long after our loved ones pass, no amount of time can be more than a blink when compared to eternity

It may seem cruel while we wait but keep in mind that our time is a manmade concept based on our own environment.
