Reverence for God

Have a look at 2nd Kings 10 30-31! Wow a TBN preacher must have time travelled and visited King Jehu- Paula White? Kenneth Copeland? 🤭

Seriously though, after recieving a direct word from God King Jehu still did not do God's will and continued doing his thing.

How many of us are like this? We need to stop focusing on ourselves and stop worrying about any percieved consequences of what God wants us to do "What will people think?" "I'll be viewed as a Pharisee!"

A key thing in not following God's will for our lives is a lack of reverence, fear and respect for God.

Lots of preachers of popular networks, etc treat God as if he is some sort of frat boy drinking buddy rather than the creator of the universe, who will happily bring events on you at anytime to humble you in your pride.

Do not be like Jehu who was clearly concerned about his own happiness and did not realise true happiness is found in God, and as you grow in this knowledge the things of the world grow dimmer!

God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in him.

Above quote by John Piper.

The Roman god has no power here. He only cares for Israelites and sycophants.

By the way it has a lovely tea room which does amazing coffee and walnut cake.😋

That does sound nice!

@BritishFailedAesthetic It’s really good. But it goes straight to your hips. Maybe walk it off.
@Ceinwyn Won't go for that trick, I'm back to being thin and lost the 'thin man fat'.

The gym will do 😅

This brought the fear of God to my heart, yet I absolutely love Him, and just finished doing a study on how to obey Jesus, in attempts to show Him that I love Him by doing His will.
@saintsong That's so great, thanks for sharing, studies are important as they always help us grow and csn give us a great (Biblical) fresh perspective.

How about 2 Kings 2:23-24? Any thoughts on that one?

@BritishFailedAesthetic Strong's Bible Concordance. I might have known.

Quite possibly linguistic experts, but with an agenda. That's the trouble.

Also, I appreciate you having a good sense of humor about the fake screenshot.
@LordShadowfire The screenshot was hilarious, we'll just disagree about the linguistics.

@BritishFailedAesthetic Also I think I might have gotten mixed up as to which word I was defining, lol.

Hey! I just now realized you blocked Corvus again! 🤬

But wait. I'm not blocked. They've changed their policy on that, I guess?
@LordShadowfire I'm glad as I get to see you but won't be welcoming your bird back anytime soon 🤭

@BritishFailedAesthetic Joke's on you, sparky. He's the polite one.
