Reverence for God

Have a look at 2nd Kings 10 30-31! Wow a TBN preacher must have time travelled and visited King Jehu- Paula White? Kenneth Copeland? 🤭

Seriously though, after recieving a direct word from God King Jehu still did not do God's will and continued doing his thing.

How many of us are like this? We need to stop focusing on ourselves and stop worrying about any percieved consequences of what God wants us to do "What will people think?" "I'll be viewed as a Pharisee!"

A key thing in not following God's will for our lives is a lack of reverence, fear and respect for God.

Lots of preachers of popular networks, etc treat God as if he is some sort of frat boy drinking buddy rather than the creator of the universe, who will happily bring events on you at anytime to humble you in your pride.

Do not be like Jehu who was clearly concerned about his own happiness and did not realise true happiness is found in God, and as you grow in this knowledge the things of the world grow dimmer!

God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in him.

This brought the fear of God to my heart, yet I absolutely love Him, and just finished doing a study on how to obey Jesus, in attempts to show Him that I love Him by doing His will.
@saintsong That's so great, thanks for sharing, studies are important as they always help us grow and csn give us a great (Biblical) fresh perspective.
