Here's an actual question: If God wants to save as many people as possible, why has he not PROVED beyond any doubt that he is real?

If he wants to save me, if he wants to make sure you do not fall away from faith...why doesn't he make sure we all know that he is the real deal?

Moses people saw God and they rebelled.

This is what Jesus said about miracles being done and people not repenting:
Matthew 11:20-24 "Then Jesus began to denounce the cities in which most of His miracles had been performed, because they did not repent. 21“Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.22But I tell you, it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you. 23And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted up to heaven? No, you will be brought down to Hades! For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Sodom, it would have remained to this day. 24But I tell you that it will be more bearable for Sodom on the day of judgment than for you.”

So you see, the more proof given, the more faith is required. God is sparing us the punishment of not believing should we have seen real proof. That said miracles happen every day, just watch Benny Hinn.

Sounds like Tyre and Sidon would have benefited lol.

But no, the more proof is given, the more people follow. That is what we see in the Old testament. It is when god steps away that people fall into sin.

But do you not see that this is still not an answer?
The people in these cities simply were not convinced that Jesus' miracles meant he was divine.
But God knows what would prove his existence beyond a doubt. If these miracles did not accomplish that then he did not intend them to...and one wonders why...

My theory (at least) is that God values faith...And the greater the sign or wonder, the more faith is required of a man. I don't know why exactly God values faith so much. It could have something to do with the fact that a being who knew Him in all His Glory rebelled against Him. That could be why He set up this whole competition for souls. Maybe not, I don't know. I'm not really qualified to speak beyond scripture so dont take anything I say beyond scripture as the God given truth.
@Matt85

Stepping outside the "in-universe" explanation, god inexplicably valuing faith over proof is a good excuse for why god just doesn't seem to show himself to us the way he used to.
Speaking in-universe, this explanation seems to fall under the unuseful umbrella of "god works in mysterious ways".
