When Jesus was dying on the cross and he said to God "father, forgive them for they do not know what they are doing"

Why didn't he tell the people who were crucifying him that they needed to repent and accept him as their savior, or else God wouldn't forgive them and they would be sent to hell forever?
Maybe because his sacrifice saves everyone, whether they believe or not.

none of us were alive at that time...only he can answer your question...he did die for every sin committed thruout time. yet not everyone wants to go to confess, repent, and go to heaven.

Yet you claim to know what happened. Interesting!

@LordShadowfire Well, it was written down for us to know...

@Anton Oh, I see. So some guy wrote it down, and therefore it happened. If that's the case, then I've got solid evidence of the existence of Batman.

@LordShadowfire ...and here I thought I was in the company of geniuses

@Anton Well, you are if you stick with me.

@LordShadowfire Looking at your comments it is highly debatable

@Anton Says the man who tried to use circular reasoning to prove the Bible.

@LordShadowfire I don't have to prove the Bible. I don't have to prove God. I don't have to be an apologist for any religion. It's not my place, it's not my responsibility, it's not my job to, it's not my mission, it's not my calling, it's not my desire and I am in any case too lazy to do so. Believe what you want to believe. When the subject comes up I just comment what I believe to be truth. What you do with it is up to your discretion

So according to your religion, I'm going to be tortured for eternity because I'm not convinced, and you're good with that?
Anton · 56-60, M
@LordShadowfire Well, Jesus is good for that. In fact, the Bible states: (seeing you want Scripture quoted) Revelation 14:9-11 King James Version

9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead or in his hand,

10 the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out unmixed into the cup of His indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.
