Jesus fucking Christ yes

SW-User
Ephesians 4:29
Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.

James 3:10
From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so.

We all fall short at times but... God loves you. That's why he died for you. Ideally we should be trying to glorify him by our actions and words where possible ❤️

@SW-User did you ever have your mouth washed out w soap for swearing
SW-User
@1olderguy20 no, not something either my parents or grandparents ever did. I'm working on not swearing, it doesn't sound nice, especially not for a woman and as discussed, doesn't glorify God 😊
Emjay · 18-21, F
Christ, no!
GerOttman · 61-69, M
@Emjay Fukin A man..!
ArishMell · 70-79, M
I recall reading the words of a Royal Navy chaplain on that very matter. He said he would tell the men he accepted they will swear, especially under stress, but did not want them blaspheming.
SW-User
@ArishMell
Yes i try not to blaspheme.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@SW-User I try not to swear,, blasphemy or otherwise, but do curse under stress - frequently at my own mistakes or clumsiness. I don't like it and am not proud of it.

I don't like gratuitous swearing. I used to work with someone who used the F-word so much in ordinary conversation that one day I remarked he'd "be lost without copulation". Then had to explain - he honestly didn't realise his habit.

That was in colloquial speech but a lot of SW users are habitually and needlessly potty-mouthed even here, in written messages.
SW-User
@ArishMell
I fully agree with what you say.
Martinette · 41-45, F
It is not good.
SW-User
@Martinette

GerOttman · 61-69, M
They can do whatever they want, God will forgive them if they ask. Seems like a kind of loophole thing to me but those are the rules!
MarineBob · 56-60, M
Waiting on the supreme court to define swear
SW-User

1Dogma · F
It's ok, we're all but humans, Jesus Christ!
SW-User
Your conscious is your judge.
exexec · 70-79, C
Yes. If you slam your finger in the car door, swearing is mandatory. That was the example I used in a Christian ethics course.
SW-User
@exexec
I agree
Ceinwyn · 26-30, F
Just don’t be Christian.
AndysLoft · 56-60, M
Phuck knows.
TexChik · F
Jesus used to cuss. He was a carpenter and acted accordingly until he got the memo
SW-User
@TexChik
No Jesus never cuss he is the perfect son of God.
TexChik · F
@SW-User he wasn’t before he knew in his 30’s . He was raised the son of a carpenter and worked with his hands .
