Are you sure you're going to heaven when you die? Or are you willing to chance your eternal soul and possibly end up in hell fire?

Here on earth people have been in hospitals for 3, 4 and more months who have suffered from second and third degree burns, in pain for years. It's torture. Imagine everlasting. Christ says weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth. No one can put up with even 2nd and 3rd degree burns without screaming.

Let me put something into perspective for you real quick. You ever look at a fireplace? You ever go to a bonfire and look way down in the fire and see where the flame is blue? There isn't a germ in that thing. That's pure. A germ can't live in that thing. You know what God is going to do with sin? He's going to put it in the place where it will never contaminate anything ever again. If God is more pure than the sun - and He is because He made it. If He is more Holy than the sun - and He is because He made it. If God is pure than He is pure fire, hotter than sunlight!

Hebrews 12:29 states, "For our God is a consuming fire."

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego got into the firey furnance but they didn't feel the flame. The basic difference is if you wind up in eternity like Christ because you've believed on Him, the fire to you is beautiful weather, because it's Gods nature, it is holiness. And if you end up in eternity like yourself, a sinner who has not believed on Jesus Christ, you're going to burn. It isn't that God has it in for anybody, it's Gods essential nature. Gods essential nature is holiness. No sin, absolute purity. You can't look at His creation without burning your eyes out. How are you going to look at Him? You can't stare at the sun 6 hours a day without going blind as a bat. It isn't that God has some malicious intentions towards somebody. It's that His essential nature is holiness and anything unholy cannot be in His presence. If you want to be sinless, holy and perfect, you can be that way, but you need Christ's righteousness imputed unto you.

Why not make sure that you are saved today while there is still time?

The good news is: You can KNOW that you're going to heaven. The Bible clearly states:

"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may KNOW that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God." 1 John 5:13

You see, God wants us to KNOW, and have the matter settled. There can be no misery greater than living life wondering if some day you will lift up your eyes in hell!

The Bible so wonderfully makes salvation clear. It is a gift given of God, that cannot be earned in any way of our own doing.

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9

"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost." Titus 3:5

Jesus Christ made this wonderful, free salvation possible.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16

Do you see what the verse says? It is simply BELIEF, or rather FAITH, TRUST, in Jesus Christ that saves. I am so thankful for these following verses that tell of man who sincerely wanted to be saved, and was told how:

"Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." Acts 16:29-30

The Lord Jesus Christ came to this earth, GOD in the flesh, born of a virgin, a perfect man who never committed any sin. He sacrificed His life of the cross of Calvary, as the Lamb of God, shed His blood, as PAYMENT for the sins of the world.

You see, our sin separates us from a perfect and Holy God. We have no way to approach God in and of ourselves, for He is HOLY, righteous, perfect, and pure. He cannot tolerate sin. So Jesus stepped in the middle for us, took upon Himself the sins of the world, paid the debt we owe and the punishment for sin that we deserve, that we might be reconciled *(bought back) to God. We can come to the Father through Jesus Christ His Son!

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6

You are born again, saved, by BELIEVING the good news of the Gospel, Christ's death, burial, and resurrection.
When you accept this beautiful truth, that Christ loves you and died for YOUR sins, and arose from the grave FOR YOU, TO SAVE YOU FROM HELL, and you simply say yes to Him (call upon the Lord), in child-like simplicity, offering nothing of yourself or self-righteousness to God, but clinging only to CHRIST'S MERIT and HIS righteousness, YOU WILL BE SAVED.

1 Corinthians 15 says:

"Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

BY WHICH ALSO YE ARE SAVED, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:"

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

Would you be willing to put your whole-hearted faith on Jesus to make it to heaven... instead of trusting yourself and your own way? If you say yes, and will trust what the Bible promises to every sinner who would believe on Jesus Christ, would you humbly go to God in prayer and ask Him to save you in the name of Jesus?

The painful truth is that the ONLY reason people get into religion is because they are trying to get out of having to go to hell. It has nothing to do with loving Christ or whatever.

Kind of like why most people obey the law - they do not love the cops nor the legal system, they just don't want to end up in jail.
SW-User
@CestManan This is nonsense and demonstrates you have no understanding.

Firstly, let me start off by saying that the reason why people are converted to Christianity (which is not just another religion) all around the world is because Jesus Christ's love story is the greatest love story in the world. He died for the sins of every single person who ever existed and ever will exist and He knows EVERYTHING about EVERY single person. If anyone here knew everything about someone else, they would never die for them. Jesus Christ died for everyone, you included, and even those who spend their entire lives hating Him, blaspheming Him, and turning many people away from Him. He died for them too. Every single love story outside of His love story has some element of selfishness, no matter how good it is. Jesus' Christ's love story is the only one that is completely selfless. He got nothing out of it. But we all do.

Now, Hell must exist because God is a God of justice. Even non religious people care about justice. Just look at the reaction of people in a court room waiting to hear the sentence of their family members murderer. We all love justice. God is a perfect, Holy and Just God, so Hell most certainly exists.

Science supports its existence too.

The Bible makes it clear that Hell is in the heart of the earth. Matthew 12:40 makes it clear, "For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth."

Science tells us that Brimstone really does lie beneath our feet: Researchers find Earth's core contain's 90% of planet's sulphur!

Scientists discovered a while ago that the Earth's inner core has a temperature of over 12,000 degrees fahrenheit. Have you seen pictures of a volcano erupting, spewing a lake of fire from inside the earth — consuming everything within miles just from the heat?

Thousands of years ago, the Bible described a place called hell in the heart of the earth that matches exactly what science is discovering. Revelation 14:10 says, " . . . and He shall be tormented with fire and BRIMSTONE . . ." And Job 18 describes the " . . . PLACE of him that knoweth not God" (vs 21), in verse 15 as, " . . . BRIMSTONE shall be scattered upon his habitation."

Do you know what brimstone is? It's sulfur. And do you know where sulfur or brimstone is found? INSIDE THIS EARTH! According to the book Volcanoes by Pierre Kohler (p. 43), when Mt. St Helens erupted in 1980 — 150,000 tons of sulfurous gas was ejected! Job is the oldest book in the Bible, written over 3,000 years ago, and yet Job knew what science wouldn't know for years — inside this earth is brimstone!

Now, all of us, even non-religious people recognize that we are not perfect and have all done wrong. We have all sinned and everyone knows that. We've all transgressed God's law - we've all broken His laws and by doing so we have sinned against an eternal God, which merits an eternal punishment. God cannot allow anything less than perfect in His presence so we must be covered by something in order to enter Heaven? What is that? The blood of Jesus Christ, which he shed for us on the cross. He paid the fine. That is why He said "It is finished" because the debt has been paid. We must have Jesus Christ's righteousness imputed unto us, because Jesus Christ is God manifest in flesh - He is the only one who lived a perfect life and was completely sinless. He died, was buried and rose again and conquered Hell and death and is now risen and beyond space, time, and matter. No other religious figure has done this. And we can all have the free gift of eternal life by believing on - putting all of our trust in Jesus Christ and what He did for us alone. What a beautiful gift. There isn't a greater love than this and we truly love our God - the creator of the universe - who has given us this gift.

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23

"And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." Acts 16:30-31
@SW-User If Christianity is a "love story," why did it have to be imposed at the point of a sword virtually everywhere it went until a few hundred years ago? And please don't say "those darn Catholics." If the Catholic Church hadn't preserved Christianity through the early Middle Ages, you'd still be worshipping trees the way your ancestors did. Or you'd be a Muslim because there wouldn't have been anything to stop the spread of Islam into Western Europe.

Christianity is a fear based religion where one has to pretend to "believe" in something or else bad things will happen. Lots of people do actually believe, but lots don't. I can't make myself believe in something that I don't actually believe in. I could pretend to, but I think that St Peter might be aware of that anyway and kick my butt downstairs...
From what I've seen here on SW, the company would be better there anyway.
@SW-User How do you force yourself to believe in something you consider nonsense?
walabby · M
@SW-User So, you've been there?
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@SW-User Nothing or no state is eternal. In fact nothing exists unchanging for even a moment.
If you arrive in Hell then thays a beginning..all things that have a beginning have an ending.
You’d better hope you picked the right religion out of the thousands available. You don’t want to meet Allah and be told that you’re going to hell because you didn’t complete the hajj.

@whowasthatmaskedman

Yes, but nowadays "paleface" is an ethnic slur.
Can't have that! 😧
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Thinkerbell Yup. Can't go slurring those nice White Folks.😷
Thinkerbell · 41-45, F
@whowasthatmaskedman

Oh, wait, I forgot!
White folks are the one minority in the world not protected from ethnic slurs! 😧

Unless of course it's one group of whites slurring another group of whites.
Then it might be disallowed, but it's complicated.
Depends very much on who's slurring whom. 🙄

The universe is a big place. No doubt there are other places to see , there’s no reason to limit yourself to heaven. And you won’t have to brown nose Jesus.
Rhode57 · 56-60, M
I dont know if I believe in heaven as such but there is something . Dont really know how to describe what I experienced but I can tell you your relatives are alive and well and looking their best and waiting for you . A nice lady in blue kept telling me to wake up that my family were waiting for me , obviously meaning it wasnt my time . I woke up in Hospital after being in a coma for 10 days and family called to my bedside twice during that time . I dont remember what happened before but apparently I suffered sepsis and heart failure . I am living on borrowed time my heart is only working at 25 percent and was given zero life expectancy .
Diotrephes · 70-79, M
@Rhode57 May you be comfortable the rest of your life.
walabby · M
@Rhode57 Was it the tunnel of light and the feeling of peace? I have never experienced anything like that but do find it very interesting.

I read this story where this atheist goes to hell. The devil is not seen anywhere but is heard all around. There is some small banter and the man eventually says he never believed in any of this. Is that why he is there. He later says "They say your greatest deception was convincing people that you do not even exist. The voice says, "No, my greatest deception was convincing people they had any other choice."

I am curious also about with religious people. When they lose someone close who wasn't saved or religious or what not, do they just tell themselves, "Yep, that person went to hell." with the same indifference as someone talking about how their loved one moved to a different house?
@CestManan Yes. The righteous sit in heaven, looking down with joy at the sight of their loved ones in hell, suffering in the manifestation of God’s perfect justice.

Imagine the sick mind that came up with that.
CestManan · 46-50, F
@LeopoldBloom I remember reading about that somewhere.
Everything about religion just seems childish.
God and the devil fighting over souls, God's jealousy, wanting to be the center of attention...
Just the reasoning and temper of a five year old.

How do you know you've got it right, maybe the Hindus were right, yep, the Hindus were right, you need to go off and become Hindu. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Join the Aghori, those are some splendid lads. Right up your alley I'd say.

The only reason people put their trust in the name of Jesus, is because Cthulhu is too hard to pronounce.
Where is hell located? Be specific.
Diotrephes · 70-79, M
@LeopoldBloom According to the biblical fairy tale, hell is temporary and it will eventually be tossed into the lake of fire after Judgment Day. No one will be in hell when that happens. They will be in the lake of fire.
SW-User
@LeopoldBloom It is in the heart of the earth, which is consistent with science. Matthew 12:40 makes it clear, "For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth." Science tells us that Brimstone really does lie beneath our feet: Researchers find Earth's core contain's 90% of planet's sulphur.

How can you be in denial about this?
@SW-User So if it’s a physical location, we should be able to drill down to it, correct?

Since it’s a physical location, what part of us goes there after our death, since our physical body remains in the grave, mausoleum, or urn? How does a purely spiritual entity react with it? Couldn’t our soul just return to the surface?

These are relevant questions because your explanation makes no sense otherwise.
There is nothing after you die so it doesn't matter.
walabby · M
@Spunkylama That's probably the case, but even if there was something, it doesn't have to be what the Christian religions say it is...
DocSavage · M
Yeah, I know the guy who works the gate on Thursday nights.
DocSavage · M
Truth be told, yeah.
Can anyone be 100% sure of anything ? Probably not. But I put my chips down long ago. And am comfortable in my choice. That’s all there is to it. You would need some pretty solid evidence to convince me otherwise

I could say the same stuff about Kali, and still have as much a chance of getting in to heaven.

I trust Odin so I'm going to Valhalla to be with Him.
"There is something distinctly odd about the argument, however. Believing is not something you can decide to do as a matter of policy. At least, it is not something I can decide to do as an act of will. I can decide to go to church and I can decide to recite the Nicene Creed, and I can decide to swear on a stack of bibles that I believe every word inside them. But none of that can make me actually believe it if I don't. Pascal's Wager could only ever be an argument for feigning belief in God. And the God that you claim to believe in had better not be of the omniscient kind or he'd see through the deception.”
― Richard Dawkins, The God Delusion

@BlueSkyKing I never brought up Pascals Wager. I am explaining the situation mankind is in and the FACT of the horrors of Hell and that people need to sincerely and honestly believe on Jesus Christ with all their heart in order to be saved from hell.
@SW-User Then in your view, the extreme scenario has the vast majority of people past, present and future, are going to be roasting in hell for eternity. For various reasons often by no fault of their own. Including 100% of those that never heard of Jesus and were born before that time.

What a great god to worship.
Diotrephes · 70-79, M
Just because you might go to the Christian hell it doesn't mean that you will stay there. Even Jesus went to hell.

Where you do not want to go is to the Islamic hell because that is where souls get tortured for eternity. The Christian hell is temporary.

Know your hells!!

@LordShadowfire Sorry I cant I can only tell you what I experienced and it still feels like yesterday it was so vivid . I didnt however see pearly gates or jesus etc . I would rather explain it as another plain of life after our earthly body dies when their is no sickness etc .
@Rhode57 What if that experience only applies to you?
