It's funny, considering that the original world described in the Garden of Eden was a vegan world; the first animals were only killed after the Fall.

@1354swrdt I seem to recall them eating animals after they left the garden.

Wrong. @LordShadowfire

@1354swrdt Okay, I'll defer on this one. It's been a while.

@1354swrdt Was that God's way of apologizing for flooding the planet? "Hey, I'm sorry I killed everybody you ever knew. As a consolation prize, you can now eat animals."

God does not need to apologise for anything - least if all to you@LordShadowfire

@1354swrdt I'm just saying, it's weird. When they left the garden, they were still only allowed to eat plants.
Also, I would love it if God were to apologize for creating cancer. But that's a debate for a different post.

Actually it is a fallen creation that creates cancer. You are a typical atheist - mad with a god you don’t believe in! @LordShadowfire

@1354swrdt It's a rhetorical question, the answer is God did. In Genesis, he created the Tree of Knowledge, the Tree of Life, the snake, Adam, and Eve, with full knowledge that they all had flaws that would cause them to introduce sin into the world. He caused the Fall through all these actors; he doesn't get off the hook just because he didn't personally do it.

@1354swrdt Yeah, I probably did believe the first lie I was ever told. Most kids start out pretty damn naive. But getting back on-track, using proxies to do a deed doesn't absolve you of guilt. If I build a robot that kills my neighbor, I can't turn around and blame the robot to get off scott-free. I constructed the damn thing and I knew exactly what it would do. Any court would agree that that's 100% my own fault.
