You are brain dead blondy

NorthernBear · 51-55, M
That's more of a question for people who follow the old gods than we who follow none. You people appropriated the pagan holidays of Saturnalia and Yule. Then you commercialized it to the point that it's barely recognizable. If the old gods are real we are in a lot of trouble.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
I'm an atheist and i love all the carols,lights Christmas atmosphere..don't believe a word of the Christian message..but i love all the boozing and feasting! Ding dong be merry and high!
@Entwistle And let's be honest. The aspects of Christmas that you love all predate the birth of Yeshua, so you can enjoy it without being a Christian.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@LordShadowfire Yes indeed. I enjoy Christmas
in the same way i enjoy sitting watching the Marvel superhero movies with my nephews..but i don't for one iota believe the characters or events are real.

We atheist know how to party

I'm an atheist, that doesn't mean I dislike Christmas. And there is no Team Atheist.
DestroyerOfIdeologies · 22-25, M
I'm not a Christian, nor in any religion. Not sure what group I really am. As I don't quite identify with atheist and agnostic either, though I feel closest to them in a sense.

I actually like the Christmas lights. I love driving past midnight and going through downtowns and seeing all the Christmas lights and decorations. I also like what they display inside malls.

a) The decorating, feasting and frolicking reflect the non-Christian, Northern European, Solstice celebrations more than the Christian story.

b) The world is not divided into "Christians" and "Atheists".

c) There is no such thing as a "Team Atheist", whatever you imagine that to be.

d) I am sorry to disappoint you but most non-Christians be they atheist, agnostic, or of other faiths do tolerate Christmas going on around them even if they don't personally follow it.

e) Many of the bitterest anti-festivity types are fringe, para-Christian types who think anything enjoyable in their God-given life, sinful!
Having festive period of days at the low point of the sun is not unique. Most likely cultures of the Southern Hemisphere have them too, while we have summer. Come back in a few weeks and I’ll say Happy Solstice.
@IndigoSavage You would probably call me an atheist, but I'm actually agnostic; are you aware of the distinction? Regardless, the few true Christians I know despise all the marketing and consumerism far more than the non-religious people I know.

Ask some real Christians; they'll explain to you that pine trees and strings of lights and tubby gentlemen in red suits have nothing to do with Jesus. It's kind of amusing how mixed up you are about the difference between marketing and religion.

Not bad at all -- the colors are pretty.
Really · 80-89, M
Senseless onsumerism and energy-sucking displays are part of what's destroying the planet. I doubt Christ would be amused.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@Really At the commercialism, no, probably not.

I think he'd appreciate the partying and family reunions though.
Really · 80-89, M
@ArishMell Yes, why not.

All the colorful Christmas lights and decorations are the way that we atheists celebrate Christmas.
MissUnderstandingMe · 26-30, F
Christmas isn't religious.
Tracos · 51-55, M

Wait whut
FeetAreFantastic · 41-45, M
To be fair, all the lights and decorations don't have anything to do with Christianity.

@Emosaur Stole yer meme.
It's people like you, taunting atheists and others, who give your whole religion a bad name.
