a) The decorating, feasting and frolicking reflect the non-Christian, Northern European, Solstice celebrations more than the Christian story.
b) The world is not divided into "Christians" and "Atheists".
c) There is no such thing as a "Team Atheist", whatever you imagine that to be.
d) I am sorry to disappoint you but most non-Christians be they atheist, agnostic, or of other faiths do tolerate Christmas going on around them even if they don't personally follow it.
e) Many of the bitterest anti-festivity types are fringe, para-Christian types who think anything enjoyable in their God-given life, sinful!
