i don't think it was planned in advance. the main reason why i think this is that Will Smith is super rich and successful and until this incident had a pretty much perfect reputation, was liked by everyone in the industry and was loved by millions of fans all over the world. the people who think it was a publicity stunt really believe that Will Smith would willingly throw away his reputation and look like an idiot in front of the whole planet just so that the academy awards gets more views??? really? i'd like to know how they visualize that happening. how does the academy convince will Smith to ruin his reputations so that they get raitings? he already had everything, the money , the fame and the respect, what could they possibly offer him to make him do that? it makes no sense but some people just love conspiracies, if there is any possible way to think it might be a conspiracy they instantly believe it.

WOW, you care enough to post a question - I hope this incident did not traumatise you at all
RocktheHouse · M
@nedkelly It's irrelevant to me. Was just a thought.

I don't care either way, the Oscars is a big deal because black actors were finally getting a reward for it.

@Chickie Whether we care or not, the media has made a big deal about it. It's something that needs to be discussed to a degree because Will Smith's actions may reinforce negative stereotypes about black men. If a Chris Rock was a white man, would Smith had the temerity to attack him in that manner? It is very bizarre when you think about it.

@RocktheHouse even if Chris Rock was white he still would've slapped him there's an old video resurfacing of Will slapping a white guy.
I don't care about the media making it a big deal I'm letting it die and move on

@BlueGreenGrey Is it appropriate to say this is a conspiracy theory? It's a speculation. Conspiracy theories are based on misinformation and paranoia. I don't know if there's a conspiracy theory out there about this, but just saying there's a possibility that the incident could be a publicity stunt. Is that so far-fetched and hard to fathom?
