Wish Me Luck

It's that time of Year again
WWII weekend next week at the Air Museum Here
bought a raffle ticket for a ride in a Vintage B-25 Bomber
winner to be drawn Memorial Day
hope to get a ride in Panchito

Good luck! A priceless experience. 2 dozen years ago I was getting gas and in line behind someone wearing an old leather jacket with a Confederate Air Force patch. He was a dime short of pocket change for a cup of coffee and I pitched in the dime. For that dime he offered me a ride in his B17 whenever our paths crossed again. It hasn't yet. His name tag said Col. Peck, but I'm still gonna hold him to it when we do cross paths :)
Good luck! Just had lunch with a buddy of mine and he was showing me pictures he took from inside a B-17 on a flight over the Puget Sound. Very cool. Hope you get that ride inside Panchito.

@BizSuitStacy my grand uncles was shot down, held in a pow camp, mistreated badly, weighed 75 pounds when rescued
@saragoodtimes OMG! 😥
I am so jealous! These old machines have a soul. I was once working as a mechanic on such a plane in a hanger, and it stood there with the bomb hatch open. We had to crawl through the plane, along the open hatch, and imagined how it would be on 10000ft high
@Thewhazzupdude this is the 33rd straight year of the air show. they've had the Thunderbirds, Blue Angels and the Snowbirds perform in the past

Made it last year with my son and grandson, always a great show. Going to the EAA show in Wisconsin this year for the first time, can't wait! Hope you win!

That would be so cool. Noisy, but cool.
@Thewhazzupdude it's the first time they'll have one here
@saragoodtimes The sound of the Rolls Royce Merlin engine when the plane passes. Goose bumps on places where it was never before
@Thewhazzupdude same feeling when the Blue Angels performed here. Oh the sound of those jets

@saragoodtimes
Yeah, it's expensive. Fuel costs and maintenance is not cheap. Parts aren't easy to get either and few people know how to work on them.
@HoraceGreenley did some research. all these years thought my grand uncle was a gunner on a B-17. It was wrong. he was a nose gunner on a B-24. (the Moron) they were shot down over Hungary. all but the co-pilot survived and were listed as MIA until confirmed to be POW's. my great grandfather didn't speak english so my Grandma handled all communication with the army air corp.
